Special Render XLVI - Lisa - Free edition
The final render of the art series is a homage to Velazquez's Venus in the Mirror.
2024-12-14_13h47_21.png
I certainly prefer Lisa's body, although Venus's wasn't bad for the time she was painted.
Tomorrow the Subscriber Cycle arrives at Scarlett's Tier, and I will start posting 0.23 previews next week.
I hope you enjoyed this little series. I had a lot of fun doing the renders.
Full HD render (4k for subscribers) to sweeten your eyes these last days of the year.

If you don't mind, instead of commenting on you renders, that are awesome, I'll comment on your choice of artworks.

Each of them were masterworks, not only for the chosen theme, but for their expression too. Each of them are decidedly relevant to the study of Art.

While you impressed me for your rendering, posing and overall creation of these homages to GREAT works of Art, I'm even more impressed by your choices in the first place.

Kudos.

I'm lucky to have been in front of the five originals I used as references in the real world.
Choosing only five works of art was hard. There are so many masterpieces out there that I had doubts about which ones I should use.
Goya's and Velazquez's were obvious choices. You know I always try to promote Spanish culture, and if you ask a Spaniard about a nude painting, almost everyone will remember the Naked Maja. And Velazquez's is amazing.
The third nude (Botticelli's Venus) was the one I had more doubts because of the rest of the painting. I removed the other characters and left Eileen as the focus.
The dressed pictures were "easier". The Gioconda is perhaps the most famous painting in the world. And I wanted a statue (I like sculpture better than painting) and that was a hard choice. There are so many amazing statues out there (a lot of them lacking arms) that it was hard to decide.

I enjoy sculptures too, but, paints are my jam. I've spent many, many, many hours in small, almost unknown museums here in Portugal. Not looking at master pieces, but, at the sublime art of the forgotten painters. People whose name is known but by a few, that worked not for fame or money, but of LOVE.
Sure, those works pale in comparison, yet, exceed in substance. I've seen some incredibly beautiful paintings. More than a few unsigned.

Peace :D

Thanks for not doing these famous paintings. 1000005744.jpg

The first one could be hard to reproduce and too golden for my taste.
La Grande Odalisque was on the list competing with The Birth of Venus, but was too similar to Velazquez and Goya's, so I went with Botticelli.
Ingress's bath series has the issue that the main girl never shows her face.
Valadon's would look good for Alexia, for example.
I like that Etty's painting in particular, although I'm not a fan of some of his other works. I need someone with brown (or red) long hair and a figure made to carry babies... I'm sure a librarian can offer herself as a volunteer.

Yes, but the Special Series during the subscriber cycle is always 5 renders long, released the day before a new tier gets the game.
The Art series will return with different ladies sometime next year.
We Pubic People (No it's not a mistake if it's on purpose), have to entertain ourselves with something while we wait our turn.

Peace :D

I didn‘t know about a special subscriber cycle, I thought the renders were a few „Schmankerl“ (tidbits:LOL:).

I didn‘t know about a special subscriber cycle, I thought the renders were a few „Schmankerl“ (tidbits:LOL:).
The Special series was conceived to have something to publish from the release until the subscriber cycle (from first to last tier) was finished.
I publish one or two weekly previews on Patreon/SS during the regular cycle (after the last tier got it until the next release), but that would mean spoiling things from the next update to players who still haven't played the current one, and I didn't want that.
I try to communicate a lot with players (you already know that), and stopping publishing the previews was a big hit on my communication. If I don't have anything to say, making a post for the sake of posting a message isn't my thing, so I needed something to publish besides the "Today it's released for X tier" and the weekly progress reports.
That's how the Special Series was born. It's published in two versions: 4K for subscribers and FullHD for promotion and for the free players (F95, Discord (mine and friendly devs'), Twitter, etc.). It's not a re-scale of the 4K version, it's a full render.
There's two types of Specials: The themed ones (Art, Horror, Vehicles, etc.) and the Real-World-Event ones (Christmas, New Year, Valentine, Easter, St.Patrick, Halloween, Trop's Birthday, etc.).

Then there is the Thank You monthly render, only available by DM to players who have an active subscription when I send it (1st-7th of the month without a set date). It isn't published anywhere and the players who haven't an active subscription that day won't ever get it.

In 2024 there were 48 specials (40 from the themed cycle and 6 from events (Valentine, 2 for St. Patrick, May the Fourth, 2 for Daphne won the poll, Trop's birthday, and Christmas/Holiday season), one more to come, and 12 Thank You monthly renders. So 60 renders that won't be in the game.
