Yes and no. The patch state isn't saved.
For Season 1 the patch changes your loaded game to the patched state. F.e. if you saved a patched game and you load it once you removed the patch, the save becomes unpatched (once loaded), without modifying the save file.
For Season 2/3 it's even easier. The saves are patch-agnostic, so you can change the patch state during runtime. That means that, if you play patched but want to see the alternative unpatched scene, you only need to go to the main menu, change the Family/Clone button, and your game will recognize it and act accordingly (it will need to change the image on the screen to react to it, though, but that's a Ren'py limitation).
The same applies to the gallery. You played, f.e., Scarlett's reveal scene where she isn't MC's half-sister (because you play the unpatched version), but you want to see the other scene. It's as easy as going to the main menu (with the patch installed to enable the button), changing the patch state (Family/Clone), and going to the gallery to see the alternative scene.

Thank you very much for that explanation! This is both good and bad for me. The good being I can play both versions of My Dorm with little to no drama, as usual. The bad, however, is that I now need to start living on the Centaurian 37-hour day. Zed...!
And since it's Trope... My first clone play through is going to be a Kim only run. Lovely girl. I've not done that before, the solo run.

Taboo, haven't seen the first movie but I did see the 2nd when I was a teenager on a bootleg VHS tape. Kay Parker....yum. And it's always appreciated when you see Aunt Peg in a movie.
Anyway, I play the unpatched version but the odd time I've taken a peek to see how the story is different, such as Scarlet. I very much like how the story makes sense with the non patched version. I've said it before but the landlady/roommate/etc. is tired and I think weak in some cases. I've dropped some AVNs because the explanations were lousy and lazy. Whoever the Dev of MyDorm is, does a great job and puts a lot of work into it.
