Because they didn't know when steam would approve them to release it until later today so they didn't misuse the word indefinitely it just sounds bad.

To be fair, they should have clarified it's until Steam approves the game or something like "delayed until further notice." Indefinitely was a bad choice of words. Makes me wonder what Steam sees as an issue with the game now though. Despite policies to the contrary, they allow far more extreme games on their platform.
Then again, they also randomly ban far more tame games too so eh.

If you go to the official website of the game, the creator has said that a delay problem arose and that he has not given an official date when it will be released, and that as an apology for this due to the unexpected release date, he will even include extra content as an apology for the wait.

Here's the neat part. They don't. That's why a lot of games with loli/shota/rape/bestiality/etc slip through and why a lot of games that shouldn't get banned do get banned. They talk to the devs, look at front-leaning information, and peak at surrounding discourse, then literally take a guess.
That's why a lot of games with romance and/or ero tags that look like they take place in a high school setting or admit it immediately get banned even if say it's a clean romance VN with the sauciest thing being credits screen kissing.
It's funny though, all that hard work only for it to be pushed for an unspecified amount of time by steam.
Why not release it on itch.io or something?
because why would you make money on one site? when you can make money on both at the same time
I don't think you understand what the question is.
The dev can release the game now on itch.io and get money and feedback instead of waiting on steam.
And when steam allows it they can release it there too.
As it stands now, they are not getting anything until the steam release because they pushed both.
What makes it especially goofy when devs do this "release on all platforms simultaneously" thing is that Itch only takes 10%. So they actually make MORE money per sale on Itch than they do on Steam and the people really wanting to play the game could be buying it at that greater profit margin while Steam jerks itself off about whether or not it's kosher on their platform.

Wow, that seems sort of wack if true. Steam has all kinds of unhinged shit, including that one RPG-Maker game where the H scenes constantly talking about R-wording children. But a clearly adult looking and acting femboy is too much? That sounds like either something is deeply wrong with Steam's content review system or the creator is not being entirely honest.
I actually do have a hard time believing Steam would be so wildly off base for no reason given the seeming complete lack of quality control -- including selling call of duty titles which can compromise your computer's security by just launching them. I don't know anything about the creator, but I can't help but feel a bit suspicious of them for something.

Insane that the game has had a page on Steam for months and then the day before and on release they stop it from launching.

I thought this exact same thing, what are they thinking over there? Robin is in the screenshots and videos that are/were on the Steam page, it's not like there was some bait-and-switch that changed everything. I feel really bad for the dev, that Steam would string someone along like that and then rip out the rug at the last minute. That seems REALLY wrong... I hope that Nuteku doesn't take a massive hit on this with regards to sales (although, it's almost unfeasible to me that it wouldn't significantly impact the sales of the game for new players finding it through Steam), but I am going to buy myself a copy to support the dev. Such a shame...
