Let's talk about audio and voices!New Subscribestar post
When it came to sounds I did a pretty bad job with Sana's game! There is no large variety of sounds for different situations but also the way I implemented them was very amateur-ish. I would like to improve on this!
But there is also the topic of character voices. That's a dangerous one! Voice acting in H-games can throw people off very easily so I want to take the 'less is more' approach. I like the idea of having voice acting without spoken words.
And something I want to especially focus upon is proximity sound effects. When I did them in Sana they were received well but I did them poorly.
I think it might even be fun if I could get rid of the emote bubbles that would tell you where the girl is and have players rely only on sound to locate her.
For example, you could figure out where a scene is about to happen because you can hear one of the girls making very quiet sounds behind a wall.
But that would not work very well if people want to turn voices or sound effects off so it's probably not something everyone would enjoy.
I made a short video to show what I mean!
How I would like to use voices in dialogue, scenes and how the proximity effect is improved.
Jam agreed to help with filming but please keep in mind that it's not her final voice!
Just something I made out of random materials.
Before I invest lots of money on voices for all the girls I need to know what you think!
