I believe that in most marriages, people love the perception that the other person has made of them, or even enter into it loving another ideal that they have projected onto their spouse. They never show 100%, and so are never loved for their entirety. And depending on the culture, as in the comments above, or even in social niches, you cannot afford to expose your sexuality or your entire being, which can be dangerous to your own material security in every sense and emotionally.

I actually seen a really good line in another game about a married couple where the husband said to the wife that they where too respectful of eachother in there relationship to just Fuck...so essentially meaning it's all about making love and it all has to be planned and go 100% as planned etc and I agree that sounds boring as fuck haha

I agree, but I think that at this point the relationship will gradually cool down. The person doesn't even realize it, they get used to the routine. The person's subconscious is even alert, but they don't realize it. That's why there has to be communication, as you said. I believe that in most cultures marriage means becoming one flesh, and I believe that this flesh will rot when you are not connected enough.

Yes, it kind of becomes a relationship where the wife becomes the husband's mother and the husband the wife's father, a provider, then the sexual relationship cools down because of these roles they have placed themselves into without realizing it.
I gave statistics in which Portugal is in first place in divorces in Europe - something like over 93%
