Dear friends,

I am very sad to announce that I have come to the difficult decision to stop the project. There are a few reasons for this conclusion. Firstly, as you know, I can no longer afford to buy art. We had considered generating AI art based on the work of Domino, our artist, but after further tests, I realized that the quality of the AI-generated art is still subpar.

Secondly, upon reflection, I realized that while this game would have been fantastic for 2017, it doesn’t hold the same appeal in 2024. The market is now saturated with a massive number of games, many created by AI, and the landscape has changed significantly. Additionally, our Patreon account has been banned. Although this isn't a major issue, it did cut off a portion of our income. Subscribestar remains an option, but I have put it on vacation mode so that no one gets charged for a year, during which I will figure out how to close the account.

The only reason to continue with this project would be your enthusiasm and support, which has always meant more to me than financial backing. This is why the Discord server is now free for all, but the project itself can be considered abandoned.

I am very sorry for any disappointment this may cause. I'm not the first person to abandon a project midway, and I had hoped I wouldn't be in this position, but here we are. Thank you for the amazing chats on Discord and for appreciating the game.

Nice! Except... by "investor", do you mean a generous patron of the arts, or someone who expects a return on investment? Sorry, I want to be positive, but with all the things that have gone wrong so far, I'm paranoid and reminded of the times an indie game got picked up by a publisher and things went south. (Mahou Mating by Belgerum is still in development hell, and was forced to ditch its original artist because the publisher "found a better one".)
