The issue so many such games suffer goes back to my last comment, realistically everyone has a different take on stuff, some people have a definition of NTS and others have a different one, it doesn't help with the reality of having several elements that sorta mix up, NTR is different than NTS, but how exactly? To what extent? One of the major arguing point here has been simply that, the extent, those that like NTR and that look at NTS favor a more loose form of relationship that is closer to NTR, while those that don't, favor a definition that is closer to what is expected out of a Vanilla relationships.
So Vi's actions were interpreted as justified by those that believe that the vague simple agreement between her & Erik gives her a pass at doing anything she wants, while those that aren't fans of NTR believe that their is some degree of restraint that should be expected and she went too far. Both sides can't agree because fundamentally we only agree on the fairly loose definition of what NTS is supposed to represent. Neither sides will budge because we each have our kinks & issues and like everything in society nowadays its basically a win or die on that hill over every conflicts of opinion.
Now it doesn't help that the Devs are just like everybody else, they have their kinks and issues and their definitions for everything varies just as much as everyone else, so it gives off a contradictory impression. Here the Dev said Vi was on the NTS path, now if the Dev is a fan of NTR it means that everything she did originally might be justified, while if the Dev isn't a fan of NTR he didn't really think of the full implication of her actions until the shitstorm hit. Which is why their was some change in her actions. If you used what I am saying as an example, some of my comments were far more aggressive than others, because I was more emotional than other times, the same happen to the Dev, they write the narrative while being in a mood, when that mood pass they feel differently about their narrative and since this is a digital media its easier to change the course of the narrative than it would be for something like a book.
