Ok so I may be a dumbass but I have to ask, is this game glitched? Everytime I try to click on a character nothing happens and I dont know whether or not its a design choice or if my game is just glitched.

It's not glitched.
BON deleted most useless dialogues that used to exist in My New Life,and this is how he revamps it,by cutting the bullshit and making the game more straightforward(and boring).

i dno't know if MC should wait few days to enter the toilet.
or you can active 'Bug Fixer->Character Stuck->Unlock Character', overlapping MC and carol, then 'Lock Character',
then enter the toilet to continue!
