no, blame Steam! Funnily enough, Germany is the only country in the EU that puts a stop to stupid age verification a la “Please enter your date of birth:…”. I have nothing against protecting minors from content that is not suitable for them. I have something against not wanting to use an API provided for the general public (the ID card with corresponding interfaces) for age verification. Strangely enough, only the games that affect people's most primal urges are affected, and censored (no blood) shooting games can still be sold on Steam, so nothing will happen in this respect. Mainly because the developers of these ominous games do not exert any pressure on Steam. Steam is then simply unwilling to implement anything to protect minors from accessing content that is unsuitable for them and prefers to block everyone in Germany. Just like YouTube back then, which didn't want to pay the Gema. I already wrote about this and do not want to derail the thread. I just wanted to ask if you could put any pressure on Steam in this regard.
hmmmm i don´t think it will work that way.
as a developer you want something from steam, and that is to sell the game on their plattform.
so their thinking is probably "do it on our terms or fuck of"
we do not need you,so either it goes our way or sell your product somewhere else.

i know thats stupid thinking in any way to ban a few millions potencial customers, but they have the upper hand on their plattform.
i think they are aware that Germany is not a small market for their plattform but compared to the rest of the world it is still a small thing to get that country excluded from some things.

the sellling of adult VN games on steam is only a very small part on steam and is not so old,it goes only a few years back.
and the steam income from that part is probably tiny to make pressure to that plattform where it would make a change possible.

you can get the hardest hardcorporn in germany and most of the movies and games with violence that are not banned or censored of course, but the irony is still there.

the banning of non Incest/loli/rape/murder and child pxxx VN and with not more violence than in horror movies as example on that is the absurd thing here.
there are dozend of VN that would pass these restrictions without problem and they are still banned in germany.
but for that to make it happen it would take steam to do a little work...

I don't think I'm big enough to put any pressure on Steam for this. I know that the German market is huge ( as a fellow German pervert ), but I don't think I'm at any level to do that. We'd need the biggest creators out there to do that, like Pinkcake etc, and I doubt they care that much. Trust me, I'd love to have this changed ( not just for Adult Only games, but games that got banned or censored in Germany in general ).
We tend to forget, that the Puritanism was partially (at least) invented in Germany, it still has a strong grip on it's culture and many of it's laws. It is getting better, yes, but it is still pretty far from being free from it.

Peace :)

You should read the OP and think about it before you post anything. Everywhere!

I haven't forgotten, but people in Germany are much better off than in the Bible Belt. But there's nothing wrong with protecting the little ones from inappropriate content. But if you think about what they've seen online already ... the parents have no idea. The API for age verification is , Steam just doesn't want to use it because then it will also be applied to the killer games and kids won't be able to buy them.:illuminati:

That's very humble of you. And that's how everyone thinks. And that's why nothing changes.
they have the upper hand on their plattform.
Everyone with a wallet has the upper hand. I don't buy games there that weren't developed for Linux. Although you don't buy on Steam, you only rent. Has anyone read the terms and conditions?

The game is beautiful. It's so nice to dive back into this universe. So much time has passed since the cliffhanger. I could hardly remember what happened. It's even nicer that you were able to create something with the resources available to you. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that success returns and that you get back the characters taken hostage by the police. Because I want them back too. All of them.

OK, this is going to sound VERY weird to some of you, just keep in mind that I don't mean any harm.

When I see censorship using the "Think of the children" I know, instantly, that it's bullshit. None of the people in charge care even one yota for any children, not even their own. If they did, children would be banned from churches and from being in contact with priests. The Child Protection Services would actually work and pedophilia would be taken as a serious threat. Before you tell me that it is, please inform yourself. If children welfare was important, no children would know hunger, beatings, exploitation, etc. So, it isn't really THAT important, to the point of doing things that really matter. It is only a handy excuse to enact censorship and make it palatable.

If children really mattered, parents would have access to more time with them, better help to give them what they need, better schools, true and decisive action on bullying, decent and varied after school programs that wouldn't be based on MORE studying. None of that exists, because, in fact, children are only handy as an excuse.

Peace :(

You have valid points. But you have to start somewhere with the protection of minors. And the parents? And the child-friendliness on this planet? The opportunity to evolve yourself? Don't even get me started. Whataboutism crushes me. I'm not going to talk about how evil the world is in this thread.

After playing the ch1 prequel, I can't wait to play the new updates of the main game and see the girls in prequel show up in main game. The last time I am excited about a prequel is the 'grandma house college day', weird is it, also college setting.:ROFLMAO:

Why am I not surprised that Rei cousin is ANNA?:BootyTime:

Killer7,
Will you take the prequel to the point just before the MC wakes up in the hospital after the car accident or will it stop well before that?

as i seen this game pop up there was a glimmer of excitement that it was MNM while reading the name (yes i know the reason that that ones on hold) now i believe that "the beginning" will serve as the visualization of the mc getting his memory back neer the end of MNM ( part 1) and expand on some back story and may lead to some future storys in MNM ( part 2) as the ending so far of MNM so far was probably the best place to split the game as you could get

P.S this is how i am going to see it to make my brain justify playing this before finishing MNM

I haven't played the other older project that is presently on hold (V0.4), and due to what the word prequel means... I'm guessing it's better to start with this title first...or play the one that is on hold?
So for those who have played all this dev's games, would it be a better experience if I played this prequel first, or the original My New Memories?
I'm always an advocate of reading books in publishing order rather than strict chronological order. Because of how stories are written, the initial stories are written in a way to introduce new readers into the story, while later stories - even if prequels - tend to be written in ways where you need to know the later events are coming in order to get the full impact. The same goes for films, shows, and games - half the impact of watching Anakin fall in the Star Wars prequels is knowing what he's going to turn into. Sure, you can watch the movies in film order, but it simultaneously robs the later movies of a huge impact, while simultaneously making the earlier movies weaker because you lose intended tension and foreshadowing.

In the case of this game, I kind of think you're better off playing the first game first and then coming back to this one, due to the fact that the entire premise of the first game means you're learning everything for the first time along with the character. Then jumping back to the prequel allows you to experience events from a different perspective.

Plus you've got the benefit of the other game having far more content to start out with, whereas this one is still early in development.

No doubt I bought it on steam, just a big finger to the german justice to target innocent people(yes you are innocent until the oposite has been proven). In the words of Killer7 they can't so it is only rubbish.

But looking into the game.......this was what I was waiting for. The game is amazing. Like the original MNM, this game is addictive. You can't stop, you need to continue in the game. It's one of the only games I really like to spend some money on.

I still keep faith that you will receive the MNM files back and you can continue with both projects. Keep up the good work.

It doesn't really matter, you can play either of them in any order you want. If you play the game that is currently on hold, you will just get a few more of the inside jokes that get said. But this one is "new player" friendly as well.
"This is a story heavy visual novel. If you don't like to read a lot, this is not the game for you. The game will always be more story than lewds, so if you want to go for a quick wank, this game is also not for you.
Also, all the characters you will meet in the game will eventually be lewdable."

Unless I mixing up something(I don't think i did) then not all the characters, because in original game

Unless by 'eventually' you meant that this game will go beyond original game.

will every LI in this game be romanceable in the main title?
Are you feeling like I do, that you will miss Lea, Katherine, Rei, Amelie and who knows who else?

I guess that makes 2 of us... at least.

What about it K7? What are your plans for that? (Sorry to put you on the spot mate, but each second I spend playing this I want them to stay in our lives in the future timeline)

Peace :)
