I was replaying in prep for the new chapter and something occurred to me. Not that it's important, and it even may be addressed now, but where's Sabrina's 911? I mean, we see her scooter, but why wouldn't she be driving it if she still had it?

Another week, another progress update!
Last weeks lewd render was Sabrina, and I think it was one of the cutest renders with her so far. There is just something about
her eyes sometimes...And it seems like you guys agree, so thanks again for the nice feedback in that post.This week I will try to post a girl that we haven't seen fully nude again yet. Who knows, she might have a certain hair color a lot of people like...
Pretty much the same as last week regarding My New Family, with the addition that I'm thinking about installing a few plugins that will change how My New Family 2 would look in honey select 1. It's a trial and error process, so it will take some time, but maybe this would be the best way to make sure that everyone who played the first game, will instantly recognize every character, even if they look a little different.
Now, My New Memories. I've been mostly writing story stuff, currently adding the finishing touches on a very emotional and wholesome scene with Sarah. As you can see in todays progress upate render, you will be visiting Anna with her, something you haven't actually done yet. Sure, you have the one encounter in Annas room, but she quickly leaves before you even had the chance to talk properly. This event will make Sarah open up a lot more, especially regarding her troublesome childhood. It's an overall very bonding experience the two will have, especially since Sarah struggles the most with the MC having amnesia. Both of them experienced so much together and the MC has become more than just her adoptive father, he is also her best friend and the person she talks most to ( with the exception of her sisters, of course ). Their relationship changed so much over time, with her being attached to Anna and then slowly attaching herself to the MC over the years. I think you will understand her reasoning on why she sometimes reacts very emotional when the MC forgot certain moments, even though she knows it's not his ( or anyones ) fault. All of this will play a huge factor in Chapter 4 as well, especially since the MC will have all his memories back by then. The day is already fully planned out, like I explained a few times by now, and while my initial plan was to let the MC and Sabrina explain their relationship to Jessica earlier, you will see why it makes sense to do that on the last day. Let's just say, her reaction might surprise you, and it will be a very important part of things that will happen in Chapter 4.
Speaking of Chapter 4. I know that it's weird to talk about the next chapter while Chapter 3 is not even done yet, but I guess I can give you guys a small overview on how the game will "change" once it happens. For now, My New Memories features a more serious tone than let's say My New Family. MNF also had it's serious moments, but most of the time it's a wholesome slice of life story about a household that loves each other. I kinda want to do the same with My New Memories once Chapter 3 ends, backing away from the more serious tone, especially with someone like Mike threatening the MC. I'm just not personally a fan of keeping stuff like this up for too long - I enjoy the romances, the wholesome and cute and of course, the funny events and dialogues. A lot of this stuff is not really possible right now with the lingering threat and... Other things. So, once Chapter 3 ends, I will include these things a lot more in My New Memories again. I hope that is also something you guys will like more - Drama is just not my thing, just like having your typical "Antagonist". So, Chapter 3 will close this arc ( like I mentioned ) and then Chapter 4 and future chapters will focus on the things I do best ( don't worry, I'll make sure that you will still have lots of emotional moments with the girls ).

Ok, with that out of the way, I'm a bit disappointed with the plans for Chapter 4. I find stories without any darker themes, without any challenges, a bit boring. I think that is the reason all stories END with "and they lived happily ever after". When I started playing MNF it was fun. Then girl after girl happily joined my harem. There was no challenge for MC. He was given everything on a silver platter: every girl loved him and was happy to share him etc. And I got bored. It became monotonous for me. I'm not playing simply for lewd pictures. Porn is quite easily available for that purpose. I want an interesting story (and what story is interesting without an antagonist or at least some mystery?) and possibly (although, depending on the story, not necessarily) some meaningful choices. For me, MNM is much better than MNF simply because: 1) we have a bit of danger (in the form of Sarah's father), 2) we have some mystery (MC's life before the start of the game), 3) some drama (relationship with Jessica and the roots of the problem), 4) some uncertaintly (what will happen with Anna). If all of that goes away... I would be just skipping from one lewd scene to another and that's not the way I like to play.

As I said: just my opinion. Yes, if this AVN goes exactly the same way MNF went, I will probably play for a while, then will get bored and switch to another. To each their own.
I see where you are coming from, I really do. But it's just not what I enjoy in AVNs. Not at all. I never did.
You have so many avns where suddenly, an antagonist gets introduced. Be it out of the blue or with a big announcement. And every time I see that, I just think to myself...Why? Why this forced drama with someone that is possibly threathening the MC and his girls? It was never my intend to have a storyline like this. Yes, My New Memories has a more serious tone to it, and for the first few chapters, that was fine. But the longer it goes on the more I see that I'm not a fan of it myself. I don't want to extend the Amnesia arc for too long either, because I feel like that will make certain things in the future super problematic ( especially since MC is a father ).
So yeah, it's not something I will reconsider. There will still be some "drama", especially with characters like Jessica. But it will never be like it is right now - With someone like Mike threatening the MCs life.
In the end, I'm someone that loves wholesome, funny and emotional games where you don't have to fear for any of your girls. You might say "They offer themself on a silver platter" but I don't think thats the case. The MC will still have to fight for the girls, he will still go from start to finish with a lot of them, and like I said, there will also be some tension in the story. But I prefer if it's something that gets resolved soonter than later. It's what made My New Family as big as it is, and I think I found my niché with that.
As I said: you do you, I'm not trying to convince you to change anything in MNM as any forced change would be very bad. MNM is your idea and should stay like that. You have to have fun making this AVN. If some of my thoughts spark your imagination, great. If not, fantastic.
I agree with a lot of your points. Forced drama or the sudden (frequently not justified) introduction of an antagonist is bad. I'd even say it's worse than not having it at all. As for amnesia... Again, I agree! Artificially prolonging it would just make the game feel forced (like TV series which is aired only for cash but there is no sensible plot to explore anymore). I think the introduction of Mike was quite good: not forced, this theme just fits. You can't have him hanging over MC's family forever. At least not as a threat to their lives. However, there are other opportunities, for example: while investigating the "accident" some detective discovers that something is fishy with papers and starts digging for the truth. And immediately we have a struggle to keep everything hidden. Maybe the detective could be female and be captivated by MC's charm and agree to hide this and join family?

. What I wanted to convey, maybe unsuccessfully, was that my subjective feeling when playing MNF was that everything works out immediately and there are no problems. To use MNF as an example: Lucy's arc in MNF was interesting when she was still a bit wild and "uncooperative". I really enjoyed that. Once she became "domesticated", it started to feel (to me!!!) a bit repetitive.To delve deeper into this "silver platter":
You know that if you say "I love you" she will answer "I love you". What if saying it too early causes her to be scared and to turn you down (at least for now)? What if sleeping with one before the other causes the second one to be hurt and you have to reconcile? All these dilemmas are especially true when we are talking about incest! Convincing your own sister/daughter to sleep with you cannot be very easy. It's taboo after all. That gives us another trope: if Anna wakes up, you could plot together how to breach the topic to those who are not "in" yet and doing it the wrong way could result in the "target" not wanting to take part in it. Another thing: in MNF all girls were immediately happy to have a kid with MC (at least if I remember correctly). Wouldn't it be natural to be afraid? Progeny born of incestuous relationships has a higher chance of genetic defects after all and it would make it more difficult to hide the relationship from the public eye. Or maybe one of the girls doesn't want to get pregnant at all? Aren't girls jealous? Not even a tiny bit? I'm not saying she should throw a tantrum, but maybe some pouting would be natural if a girl realizes she is just one of many?
Having said all that: I do enjoy MNM and for a large part, I did enjoy MNF! I really wish you have fun creating another successful AVN

I agree with both sides of the argument. A game does need drama or mystery or something to maintain the player's interest, otherwise it just feels like the game is in limbo with filler content. But, easy going / laid back wholesome fun is also great... for a while. I'd probably start getting bored after reading for several hours and nothing was really happening other than dates and lewds. Dates and lewds are what we see in every single AVN game out there, and while I don't oppose that, it definitely needs to have more than just that.
I know Killer7 always has a few tricks to keep us lured in, but this convo does add a bit of concern.

Additionally, I wouldn't be concerned too much yet. Even if Mike's arc is finished, there are still many opportunities for some tricks, as you called them (see my second post for a short list of possibilities).
Contrary to that other poster (though in part they did remind me of this) I actually love that K7's works are basically just fleshing out the "and then they lived happily ever after" part.
I've said before in the MNF thread that that game basically "ended" with a "and then they lived happily ever after" when Martin died.
The rest is just actually seeing the "ever after" (maybe literally in MNF's case).

I mentioned before that I discovered MNF when I was needing it. The numerous stories about young, creepy, manipulative protagonists was starting to get to me. It was nudging me in the wrong direction when I was trying to get a handle on my depression and lack of partner. MNF's wholesome story helped me feel more balanced. The fact that your protagonists do not hide their love for others from anyone they're seeing resonates with my polyamorous nature.
I am also happy that more developers are coming forth with stories about upstanding protagonists, people who are doing their best to do the right thing for all concerned.

Ya, that's definitely a common issue with AVNs in which I'm not a fan of either, especially when they take it beyond that with more aggressive things.

Yeah. I played a few of them for a while, but now that I'm working on my own AVNs, I have neither the time, nor the "spoons" to spend time on those games. I already know what I'm not going to do in my games.
Many of these manipulative games seem, to me, designed to allow incels to self insert and be rewarded for antisocial behavior. All the while saying that they're being "Alpha Males," a non-fact based philosophy of life.
