The author doesn't fight piracy, as everyone can read from the Discord server. They left because of the toxic people on here and because of a disagreement with the mods.
They implemented anti-piracy measures multiple times during the game's development and reacted negatively when paywalled content got leaked. And I don't care why they left, nor did I even mention it.

Also, that copyright exception explicitly doesn't apply to works like this, it's not a parody, pastiche, or caricature in any context, nor does it fall under 'fair dealing'. It's full on an exact example of stolen assets being monetized without consent. Nothing's going to come of it until Patreon follows through on their claim to crack down on real porn assets on their platform, but it's just silly to pretend things like this in any way comply with fair use.

You got 0.87 when the front page have 0.82 and is posted by the dev. I mean when the dev post their game directly on f95, why not let them do it?

No that one is posted BY ME not by the dev. 0.87 is leaked version of the game
That's what i'm saying, the dev choose to post the 0.82 even though he have some newer version of his game. If the dev didn't post for a very long time ok, but here the dev is quite regular on his posts so why not just wait for him to post the rest. Then i'm not forcing you to do anything, just a suggestion.

He was 'playing nice' by posting the public build that everyone has access to, while also working against piracy attempts? I fail to see any courtesies being given there for a developer-pirate relationship.
They implemented anti-piracy measures multiple times during the game's development and reacted negatively when paywalled content got leaked. And I don't care why they left, nor did I even mention it.
How far is it supposed to go, then? The only step further I can see is trying to monetize the game while also uploading the fully up-to-date here for free, which kind of undermines the whole 'making porn for money' thing.

The anti-piracy stuff, depending on the degree, can take a short walk off a long cliff, I can agree on that. I remember seeing a porn dev once openly consider trying to include something that would brick computers, and now any time I see them in the wild upset about something I get a nice spike of Schadenfreude.

And I don't see how 'reacting negatively to leaking of paywalled content' can be considered a negative point. It's not exactly an eye-roll, 'oh, you guys!' moment. Regardless of the content used to create the content we're after, are we - members of a pirate site - really gonna sit here surprised when someone is upset that we did not pay for something that we were supposed to pay to have?

He posted it cause like others have said, the dev left. Since they left, we haven't gotten any updates from them. As much as I like the idea of working with the dev and being respectful, they didn't remember the first rule of the internet. Its full of assholes, so if you interact with people, you will be shit on no matter how nice you are.

Agreed, you can even infer as much from the attached image. -- Don't think using the images/vidoes as the foundation/base/draw for the game is considered "limited amount".

Edit: Then again, if that's the case, then those pokemon fan-mades games wouldn't be considered parodies... Huh, guess the wording can be vague.

They could choose not to reprimand pirates, not take explicit measures to try and inhibit them, not treat them like some kind of enemy, etc. Literally just choosing not to do anything that's already being done would be miles better for improving their relationship with pirates.

There's plenty of devs, including ones on this site, who have fantastic relationships with their pirates and earned a significant amount of goodwill with them by realizing their benefit and working with them rather than against them.

Name one anti-piracy measure from the dev.

The dev, upon being reminded of that fact, just left. It's the assholes who are making a fuss about how the author should have stayed despite them being assholes.

Refusing to update the OP with leaked versions that've been provided, for starters. The thread has had multiple update cycles without proper links because of this, with leaked versions only ever being added to the OP when moderators step in and do it themselves.

But really, I shouldn't bother with a good faith argument with someone who responds with the equivalent of "lol k" when they can't refute something, because you're not here to discuss anything you're just here to blindly defend a developer on their behalf.

is that it?

The author did not update the leak? Oh, you poor thing. As said in the comments above, you just need to report a message saying that it is the leaked version and the mods will update it. Is the author supposed to spoon-feed you the content that has been pirated? Would you like the author to also do the leak in the first place?

Your 'argument' sounds like entitled ranting to me.

No anti-piracy measure was ever taken.

You asked for a singular example, so I provided one. And yes, actually, I do expect the thread owner to do their job and update the OP when new versions are being provided by users, rather than ignoring them and forcing moderators to come in and do it instead, it's quite literally one of the rules for being a thread owner.

Like I said, you're just here to blindly defend the developer with zero interest in making valid arguments or having any kind of good faith interactions here and every single post you've made thus far has only helped prove that.
