My first comment on this thread was March 17th, 2024 shortly after 7.0 came out, and here we are 426 days later and patch 9.0 is finally out, with the addition of roughly ten minutes of light reading, and two and a half (window scene?) sex scenes added in total across two patches.
Considering it seems they average around $20,000 a month on patreon, in the 426 days since I originally commented, they have earned $280,000~, if I were to have been a supporter the day I made my comment I would have paid $42 (based on the most popular support option on their patreon).
You can not convince me this isn't a forever game being developed at a snails pace intentionally, perhaps I'm too poor so the idea of spending $42 for the tiny bit of content we've received seems asinine, but maybe not so much for others. I just can't help but think what $42 could get me in other avenues of entertainment (Shadow of Erdtree is fucking $40 btw).
To clarify, I do not care that Cyan is getting rich off their art, more props to them, they developed their name and reputation enough to garner this kind of pay. I'm more just pissing in the wind here, and am also just flabbergasted that Cyan's supporters (not just the ones in this thread) aren't more vocal about the pace and size of updates. There is a chance I am just grossly underestimating the time it takes to draw these backgrounds, and someone will come humble me with their experience on how much work actually goes into the drawings. I just personally have a hard time believing that Cyan puts even close to 15 hours a week of real work towards this game, and it confuses me how people so generously support that. If you run the numbers at 15 hours a week, since the last update (8.0) on October 13th, 2024 that comes out to 570 hours of work (update was 38 weeks ago), which doesn't even sound plausible to spend that much time working on something and produce such meager results.
I guess at the end of the day I'm just surprised that they continually grow and clear more and more money with such disappointingly small and sparse updates while it seems others bust their ass on this site with more frequent, larger updates to their games and have 1/20th of the support this game has. I wonder if that's just the difference that being hungry for success (or money) has, and now that Cyan is at the 'top' they can take it easier, who knows? Thanks for coming to my ted talk about a porn game I guess.

Tbf a lot of us use this forum to find decent game devs to support, and it's a good platform to gripe on. There are a lot of devs that milk the consumer and never finish their project. Mad respect for the rare few that keep up a consistent amount of quality updates.

Damn what an interesting 5 hour playthrough, very sad that it seems the dev is not updating the game very often. Genuinely good game, the sex parts could include replayable animations like in most games though, that's the only weak part of the game i think, the art is amazing

To be fair, my overall guess too. His attitude & personality really don't fit with the idea of someone that hides its face due to scars and trauma related to it.
Billy is very much "sweet kid in the body of an ogre" type.
That said, he's related to both Bronwen & Rolf - who can be both pretty intimidating without even trying. Simple shyness and a desire not to scare people on first meeting could be possible motives quite consistent with Billy's characterization so far, imho.

Billy is that iconic old fat ntr bastard isekai'ed to pig kingdom. He gotta wear the mask and play the fool to advance his secret plan but i dont trust him one bit.
I generally don't like Western VNs because the writing and art tend to be crap, but this game is really good. Not only is the art superb, but the writing is really charming too. They actually make the characters really endearing and likeable, so you're not just skipping through the story to get to the lewd scenes. The H-scenes are delightfully kinky too. I really appreciate that you can choose between anal and vaginal scenes, so people can get the content they prefer. As a fan of both facefucking and anal, this game really delivers.
As far as the characters go, Emelie definitely steals the show. I'm not even a hardcore furry or anything, but it blows my mind how attractive a female pig can be when drawn the right way. She's both adorable and incredibly sexy at the same time. If this game ever comes to Steam, I'm definitely buying it to support the developers.
