I mean he could just not play, this way the mc dies and the relationships break. Thats what happened in the first place after all, he should be happy to have this choice!

Its literally what happened in the first place which you maybe would be aware of if you would have read the story.
I am on my second playthrough and was wondering how I can ensure that, when transitioning from book 1 to book 2, the second playthrough's data is loaded and not the one from the first playthrough.

Finally sitting down and catching up on this and man I love this game. This shit actually made me audibly laugh.
It reads the latest playthrough once you make it through the end of the Book. It's a bigger deal for transitioning from 2 to 3.

Does it get the playthrough info when you save at Miho's end words or when you click all the way through? It'd be neat if there was a way to check if it did it properly.

I am currently replaying with the un-rerendered chapter 1, since chapter 1 rerendered errors out on startup with the raised exception

I put it in a 1) short and 2) alphanumeric path, since a very long path or a path with special characters has produced errors with ren'py games for me before.
My chapter 1 copy is fresh from the download section of OP (I tried the gofile and mixdrop mirrors) and not modded in any way.
I would appreciate any guidance in what I am doing wrong, since I would like to see the rerendered chapter 1.
Edit: Included the main exception raised in the traceback to allow this to be found with the search.
Is book 2 broken? I can't seem to get it started no matter what. Mac. I tried Crossover and Whisky and it still won't work. Errors

I simply can't seem to play book 2. Tried for 1h30m now. Can the devs provide a save at start of book 2 just so i can play..

This happens like 1 in 10,000 or even more... What sucks is that we can't figure out how it happens because we're unable to reproduce the problem since we never touch the font.

putting the DIN.ttf from the mediafire folder in the folder the game expects it (<gamefolder>/game/fonts/) seems to have fixed the problem. I skip-checked chapter 1 once.
I just finished chapter 26 and damn... that intro had me tearing up. also what a way to end it, really fucking curious to see how it plays out, what can he even say... what will she say? I mean she's aware of the spell so, I'm wondering how the hell they'll handle this... if she's able to put the pieces together maybe it'll be fine??
