Hey everyone, did you miss me? Still alive, by the way… To be honest, I'm really glad with the comments about the last build shared here, not so much because they're possitive, though I can't deny that makes me happy, but mainly because your comments are showing me you're finally starting to see what I'm trying to make here... But first things first, let’s handle the most pressing issue.
Now this is the kind of comment I want to see!! Not because it praises the release, but because it helps me understand what you're thinking while playing, what you're seeing. I play it myself, making corrections along the way—many times before every release. And while I do, I always ask myself: 'What would the player see at this moment?' But it’s hard, because I already know the story. It’s tough to go blind at it, so I try to enter your minds while also playing from Wataru’s perspective—seeing the world through his eyes. That’s why comments like this help me a lot to see what you’re seeing.
I’m also really glad to see people theorizing about what’s going on, because that’s exactly the kind of experience I’m trying (emphasis on trying) to create: a story that makes players think, speculate, and discuss. From your side, it might feel like a Mystery NTR… but from mine, it’s a Psychological Thriller with a strong NTR backbone. I can’t promise I’ll pull it off perfectly—it’s my first time building something like this—but when I came up with this story, I knew it was going to be a nightmare to make, but it was worth trying.
But then again, your comment—just like the one above—is great for letting me see what readers are actually seeing. Sometimes the critics are hard to hear, but they make me notice things I didn’t at first and ultimately help me become a better storyteller. So thank you!!
Finally, I want to thank you all for taking your time to play my VN. Time is precious… far more valuable than money—“time (…) is the stuff life is made of” (Benjamin Franklin… quote in Gone with the Wind. By the way, have you spotted all the hidden movie quotes in My Wife Mariko? Ahem… digressing…).

I remember noticing that after release and addressing it on Patreon. If I remember correctly, that error comes from using Save files from prior versions, but I might be wrong. That bug’s already fixed in the latest release (v0.41) now up on Patreon. Either way, I strongly recommend avoiding old saves and starting from the beginning. After the short intro text, you’ll find an option that lets you jump to any build you want — that’s the best way to continue without issues.

Really?... Well, I dare you to play the latest release and see who’s being sneaky!!... Just kidding—LOL. Don’t take that the wrong way, your comment’s actually great and pretty sharp. You might even be right. But here’s how I imagined it would have played: sometimes not knowing is way scarier than the truth itself. You can live with the truth, even if it’s ugly. The 'interracial' tag usually takes into account said antagonists. Even if some slipped notice the number couldn't be as big as you make it out to be.

About the “Interracial” thing — just to clarify, Ryu isn’t Black. He’s Japanese. The darker skin is an aesthetic choice. It’s actually something pretty common in NTR and hentai in general — the “netori” guy often has slightly darker skin to contrast with the heroine’s fair skin (sometimes he’s a gyaru-oh type, sometimes a dirty old man or an ugly bastard). It's something commonly used on Japanese manga/VN/CG... etc... Seriously, if you check, you can easily find tons of examples just from the last releases in the last few days. Compare the skin tone of the heroine and the "netori" guy, and see how many artists do that.
It's not a secret that my style is heavily influenced by Japanese manga/VN/CG/etc... In fact, if you notice, I used the same idea in my previous VN Teaser Date Kanon, where Yukihiro also had a darker tone compared to Kanon. No one thought he was Black — it was just part of the visual design.
...But regardless of whether he’s black or not — who said Ryu was the guy in the videos? I mean, maybe he is… or maybe he’s not. Maybe that’s what I want you to think. Maybe the next release will make you think twice… or maybe it’ll just cement your idea of him being the guy. Who knows?
Now, about animations — I’ve seen a few people asking for them, and I get it. But that’s not the direction I’m going for. The tool I use isn’t ideal for animations, and honestly, I prefer focusing on strong CGs and a solid story instead of sloppy loops. I’d rather spend time polishing each frame and scene to hit emotionally (and visually) than go half-baked on movement.
Now, that doesn't mean some incredibly talented people can create incredibly hot loops and animations in their VN... I've seen some amazing animations in the Illusion discord, but I know my limits. It's hard enough for me just making the CGs, writing the story, adding the SFX, the music... coding everything in Renpy, and then trying to promote it so people know about it...

made by a very skilled artist in the Illusion Discord. I wrote that artist back then and asked how much it would cost to commission some animations. He generously replied, "Just give me the scene, what do you want me to animate?" The Illusion Discord is full of amazing people who have helped me and taught me so much!!... But I can't go in there and say: "Hey!! I need some animations, so do it!!... for free!!, or for peanuts!!... Whatever!!..."But ultimately, and I want to be brutally honest here, I don't like animations in VN (most of the time). I prefer some very sexy CGs. In fact, in the VNs I've played, I've actually turned the animations off — because I prefer to appreciate the amazing still art rather than watch a half-baked loop. And I’m not just talking about indie games; even professional Japanese VNs sometimes fall into that trap. I won’t name titles, but think of those “XXXXXX - THE ANIMATION” cases — I’m sure you’ve seen what I mean.
If I ever add animations in my visual novels, they'll have to be on the level of Nyl2, MipoZ, Taka84, スタンブローAg精錬所... etc... Artists I admire deeply... Is that level or no deal!!... I'm that kind of perfectionist asshole. And even being the perfectionist asshole I am, I still can't make it perfect with the still renders (Again — limitations). It’d be wonderful if someday I could hire someone to handle the art so I can focus fully on the writing and direction of my VN. Impossible right now — but I can dream.
That said, I am working on adding voice elements — moans, breathing, ambient sound — to enhance immersion. I personally think that does way more for the overall experience.
Anyway, just wanted to clear that up. Appreciate everyone who’s been commenting and asking questions — I really do read them all, even if I don’t always answer right away. Your comments fire me up… well, sometimes they hurt, but most of the time they make me think: I can do better!

Yup, good Sfx are far more important than animations, that's why adult ASMR sells alot.
That might be the next thing that you want to do in terms of elevating the VN further. A good moan can do a lot.

Yeah, that's one of the reasons why the AVN called "Lustful Voyage" got so popular before it got abandoned, simple animation but with good moans and sounds.
