doubt I'll have any luck with this, but is it possible to, like, mod the game, to make the save system not complete dogshit? cannot stand having to go home every single time I want to save, kinda ruins the whole game for me. would be absolutely fine, if you could save whenever you wanted.

If you open the files with RPG Maker, yes you can easily just re-enable the menu and re-enable saving. Or you could add an event for saving and just place copies of that event in every map if you really wanted to.
okay, but I don't exactly have a copy of RPG Maker just sitting around, for me to do that. was moreso hoping for a file I could modify, or something. is that not an option?
You know, I take it back. I opened the file in RPG Maker MV, added multiple save events onto the maps, clicked save and then playtest. For whatever reason, nothing I changed showed up in the playtest. I've never seen this issue happen before. It should work but it isn't.
The speedhack for MV I'm using has save menu under F12 key.

It's just so weird that it's not saving. I have been editing RPG Maker games for a long time, including this one. Not once in the years of me doing this have I ever encountered an issue where the changes I make after saving don't show up. Maybe I just need to restart my computer or something, I don't know.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand finding out how to fix the saving was a colossal waste of time, I love when developers view women as no more than sex objects, and players as undeserving of any choice in their games. unavoidable sexual assault is my faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaavorite. uninstalled.
At night, run around town to collect enough keys to open the chest quests, basically free roam after the first quest.
