V.0.22.1a took forever to get past the loading screen. I eventually gave up.
I tried again and got to the main screen, but was blocked by the Patreon authentication process.

Dev Update – Next Version in the Works!

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to drop a quick update — I’m currently hard at work on the next version of NeonStrip, and it's shaping up to be one of the biggest updates so far.

The main focus this time around is performance.
I've been doing a deep dive into optimization across the board — from character rendering to open-world systems like traffic, pedestrians, and AI dialogue. The goal is to make everything smoother, more responsive, and way more stable, especially for lower-end systems.

Alongside the performance work, there are also numerous visual and gameplay polish improvements.
Here’s a sneak peek at a few in-progress screenshots from the upcoming build:

Screenshot 2025-07-19 015850.png Screenshot 2025-07-08 003322.png Screenshot 2025-07-14 051229.png

From first-person driving to updated lighting, and even new character animations — everything is being tuned to push NeonStrip forward without sacrificing style or gameplay.

If all goes well, I’m aiming to release a new test build very soon. Thanks for sticking with me and following the journey — your feedback and support continue to drive this project forward.

.... Just curious.... what's your "recommended sys req" to run decent? :)))) otherwise if you're able to "optimize"...... Because it's laughable as it is now, with a Ryzen 9 9900X, 16GB 5080ti, 256GB Ram.... 10fps

A lot of my users have similar computer specs to yours. It definitely does not run on just 10 fps, not for them. It doesn't run 10 fps for me either and I am developing the game on an i7 and Nvidia 3070. I know that 4K seems to run slow on Unity with it latest updates; you might be trying to play the game on 4K. I recommended lowering the resolution. If you're just getting 10 fps all around on a high-end computer, then I recommend playing a different game.

And are you sure you have those specs? Because it seems like you have trouble running Home Together, too, you need to reduce the quality of everything in the game. You remember this screenshot, do you?

how are you supposed to do the interactions prompts?
I'm not sure what you mean by interaction prompts. In the new version, you don't need to enter prompts. Just talk to them, build the attraction meter.

The interact prompt improvement is for when you walk to a NPC, you are prompted the option to interact with them. I can see how that could be confuse with prompts when talk with the AI.

That defensive stance of repeating "play another game" will not get you on the right path.
Naww. It works just fine. Look at all the successful movies, tv shows and games that have used that tactic and went on to be smashing sales successes. Winning! :s

That cop, three days later: Damn, was she hitting on me?
Flirting with the AI is insane.

Also, yes, that is my FPS on a MSI GS63, GTX 1060 6 GB, 16 GB RAM.
The game runs, it's laggy, but not un-playable.

Hey Everyone,

Build 0.23.32a is a patch build that will fix some issues that are breaking. Hopefully, it will make your gaming experience better.

Also:
  • The AI routinely refers to the player as "John" regardless of the gender selected
  • When playing as male, Kelly was routinely referring to the player as "sis" and "girl", though this might have been influenced by how I greeted her.
  • The one time I spoke to Jess, she referred to me as "Jess"
I'm sure this is being ironed out as we speak and is programming hell, but i believe in you!
Lastly, after having sex with Kelly, my players entire body disappeared except his hair, clothes, and glasses which was pretty interesting, but probably unintended.

Thanks for letting me know. I should have already resolved the body disappearing issue after sex. I'm still testing this. The NPC is not yet programmed to know your name and gender. I will try to implement that in the fix. Additionally, the AI model has changed; it's a bit bigger than the one I had in 0.23.31a. It should be unrestricted and smarter, hopefully. I still have to do a bunch of tests.
