I deleted all my old save data and started fresh with this update and didn't have any softlocks when playing through this update the first time, but once I tried to start a new game I got some. Had to quit the game and reload, it tried to randomly play from chapter 5, then worked fine after another attempt to start a new game. The only other thing I've noticed is that some of the single choices will automatically select themselves or they'll stay visible until the next choice comes along.

I do not know how a save system can make such a problem, even in Unity.
All I got is 'new dev, prease unastan', I don't know anything about developing in Unity. I don't remember saves specifically being a problem in any previous version so it may be a new thing with 0.8 or the many changes the game has undergone.

The thing I find odd is I spent Thursday and Friday going through 0.8.5, testing and writing up everything I could find that could be 'fixed' (which I've already sent to Stag). Took ten hours across all three routes, and since I was doing them concurrently I was saving and loading like a motherfucker. The only time I ever found a save breaking bug--saving on a choice and reloading cause the choice to do nothing--was in Chapter 18, where I could replicate it very consistently. I have no idea how it only came up in 18 if it can happen anywhere. Let me know if it happens again on your fresh saves.

BTW, alt-tabbing for a few moments when there's a decision is a semi-reliable way to make the game softlock, so don't do it.

Due to the problems I had with the saves so far, I replay some stuff and test out what functions for me and my PC. While currently the game runs again, if with some hiccups like e.g. WhiteFireDaemon mentioned with choices staying until the next on arrives, I found out some other disturbing tidbit.
I do not use Unity to develop anything, so I am not sure if it is normal, but a game of the size and complexity of NTP having a GPU load of nearly 36% is far too high in my opinion!

First, it's not a game, it's just a kinetic and very boring VN for all Laura's monologues, you're talking about described scenes or well-made characters, what, when, Laura tells her fuck with her new boyfriend in the same way in all 4 times, in the last chapters, she fucks more with Nathan than with her boyfriend, so much so that she fucks him without a condom as a first choice, hahah, then the most absurd joke is Laura's request at the beginning, that if she agreed to fuck with others, she would be free to do it as, and when she wanted, without any interference, this is not a request, it's an ultimatum and threat, that with an NTRS, she has nothing to share, this is a heavy NTR VN, with an MC reduced to a passive spectator, with only a few YES as an option to say, so, all this majesty of the plot and more, where do you get it from, it's a fucking monologue of a slut. a VN made with AI on top of everything. pathetic

That was precisely my point. Why fix something that isnt broken? Updating how the GF looks was not necessary the storyline practically would have written itself for atleast the next few updates. To make people play another mandatory 2-3 hours of already played content isnt good for their reputation as a developer going forward
Messaging system (softlocks) is definitely buggy and needs to be fixed. If it is impossible without rewriting some core parts of the code... well, so be it.

This is the most predictable bug. If MC has a choice, makes it, and has a single option follow-up to that choice a few messages later, the single option follow up will always remain selectable. It doesn't seem to actually do anything if you click on it again, but it's very repeatable.

Messaging system (softlocks) is definitely buggy and needs to be fixed. If it is impossible without rewriting some core parts of the code... well, so be it.
That guy is going to every NTS game tread and flaming it and few others are constantly liking his messages and ratings in like a few minutes of posting.

I think there are some exciting things, that is, let Laura be Nathan's model. She will not show her face at first, and then slowly show her face, or finally appear on Nathan's porn blog and become an AV actress, but Such routines are common, there are too many of them, but using mobile phones as the basis for ntr stories is indeed a very interesting idea, so I have a good impression of it.

As of now, those replies are only in there to keep the player engaged. If the dev had given the player the option to reply with a resound 'No' the game would have to end in a game over. It's choice of style I guess.

You're right in that it's kinetic game at this point (?) and I am not sure if the Dev has plans for other routes in future updates. It's something you need to be okay with.

While there are some parts of the game which can be called kinetic, there are differences among the paths and I think these differences will become larger as the game progresses. The choices matter and add zp. Currently the differences are small to medium, but as said, the branches will become more distinct with our choices and with further advances in the story.

Well, it still does happen without fail on saves before choices, no matter the chapter. It happened repeatable with a ch. 16 save, one from 7, one from 3 and I was too pissed off to try the rest!
I must say that I have never had such a game-breaking save debacle with an AVN - ever! And I do not get what can be so difficult to make a functioning save system. For instance, "Tomie wanna ..." was also made with Unity and never had any problems with saves.

That is very weird. I just tried to replicate it several times with every save in chapter 3, one by one, and I could not make it happen once. I saved on every message

In my testing, it was always tied to the end-of-content message. Even now, I can load a save near the end of the game, push forward to the end-of-content message, load another save, and have the choices break. Afterwards, loading any other save no matter where will also have broken choices. From there, if I restart the game and load a save before the end-of-content message completes, the choices work again.

And frankly, I was checking grammar for the entire game, so I had to save on almost every single choice to check both sides for any mistakes. I must have gone through hundreds of saves, it only ever triggered when the end-of-content message was in play in Chapter 18.

To be clear, when you say it happened repeatably with 16, 7, and 3, do you mean you triggered it once in 16, then tried loading 7 and 3? Because that's very different from triggering it in 16, restarting the game, triggering it in 7, restarting, and triggering it in 3.

Send me the files if you have them please, I'd like to take a look.

Yes, I tried it like that. But I also tried it with a chapter 9 save after restarting the game and it directly broke after the choice made. And for you I restarted it again and used the ch.16 save. Currently it runs normal with this save. The same one which broke directly earlier.
I do not know what to make of this. The ch.16 save broke at first, other saves unresposive. After restarting and using a save from
ch.9 it also broke directly after loading and the first choice. Now the new restart the ch.16 save, which bricked earlier, runs.

Where do you see it branching? Can you name a few differences? I cannot play through it again without a proper skipping function and better save system.
The dominant, balanced and the sub path all feature differences in dialog and sometimes also in what will happen. e.g. On sub Laura might simply go to Nathan for a Quickie, something she does not on Dom and balanced paths, where she messages you beforehand and you can/will get a choice, depending on choices earlier. There is some variance with Ashley also.

Yes, I tried it like that.
Yeah, that's the bug. If you break it with one save, every save is broken until you restart the game. Whatever the condition is for the save breaking, once it hits it happens for every save, no matter where or when it was made, until the game is restarted. In every case I've seen it trigger, it can be avoided by loading a different save fast enough, before whatever triggers it happens.

The most consistent trigger I've gotten was letting end-of-content message play out fully. It happened I think once otherwise in Ch. 18, but that's it.

You mentioned Chapter 9 when the original three were 3, 7, and 16. I assume that's because a save worked for a while. Best guess is there's an interlude that has some similarity to EOCM that may cause it. With your addendum, it makes me think this may be the case even more.

If nothing else, public release for the latest version is Tuesday if I'm correct. That means 0.8.8, which restores memories.

The differences are entirely tone and dialogue, and maybe some random interludes. Truly branching paths that see different events are possible in the future, but don't exist yet.

Guys, this game is deadly boring, there are counterparts of the slut, and we as MC who every now and then use the button to say yes, the factor that we only have a few photos, makes it mediocre, but these long monologues of her banging Nathan, are very annoying, and then, MC with only the word, yes, ok, or the various emoticons, hahahaha, what paranoia.
Well, if you take a look on the games with most positive reviews and ratings, it's usually gay's and lesbian's games.
I don't care about both types, so I don't even bother, but people who love it (gay and lesbians) extremely happy to have something they enjoy.
This game for people who enjoy their type of fun.

Of course, there are many vanilla games with 24-girls-family-included-harem and very intelligent choices like "Accept the offer" and "Refuse". Many pictures and animations. 99% of them all-the-same, same rooms, same parks, same girls, but very little of boring text.

This game is original and has potential. The moment developer will implement actual choices with different paths it will be probable the best game available. I am still hoping for more actual interactions of MC with "side" girls Ashley and Tara.

Long monologues not that long, if developer combine them together in more realistic bigger messages, so we don't need to wait for every single string of text. Or skip text might be helpful as well.
