I would add on topic of support, piracy, etc: personaly I'm unable to back game on patreon for various personal reasons, at least for a protracted period of time.
If the game would be avaliable as a product for purchase, in steam or itch for example, I would buy it, even if patreon backers would recieve some benefits like early updates, as long as there is some value in the independent release of the game, like artbook or something (fairly common model these days).
But as long as such release is not happening and I'm not planing to use Patreon, does it really matter if I download pirated version now or dev's version week later? Philosophical question, I guess.
