I kinda agree.
The storytelling and expectation management in the game are solid, but the delivery and pacing could definitely improve.
This doesn’t need to be a 200-chapter epic. A well-crafted, consistent 100-chapter game would be a better choice. Why? Because your best work should always be your next one.
Stag needs to decide: does he want to make each chapter a masterpiece, or does he want to build a legacy of great games over the next 10–20 years?
The accessories are underutilized too. A visual novel thrives when the art is compelling and the script builds strong character development for expectation management. But once that initial charm fades, you need new tools to maintain player engagement, beyond the basic mechanics of a visual novel.
That’s why EVERY SINGLE long-running game today includes minigames.
Squaregran could be improved. That clunky vibrator mechanic could be reworked. A new minigame could be introduced. There’s plenty of room for innovation while people are interested, as I am.
You know what I think could be a great direction?
A beat ’em up minigame where Tara and the girls battle their own traumas and insecurities, each fight a metaphor for personal growth.
And in the end, we discover that LAURA WAS THE ONE BEHIND everyone’s inner struggles. So we all team up to take her down as the final boss, and the MC end up with Tara.
Pretty cool plot, right? Feels very Expedition 33. And since Stag is French, I figured that kind of layered storytelling would be fitting
