okay, I have to revise what I said. It's not the models, but the heads. The face is kind of a flat oval, and the eyes are a flat piece set on top of it, and the mouths also look like a flat piece. The girlfriend whose lashes just stick way out to the left and right looks unnatural. I am not sure. Maybe it's because they have no cheeks, or no lips. Like here, Tohka's head just looks like a triangle.

These models are just koikatsu slop. Koikatsu is an existing H game with a character creation engine where you can really easily download thousands of characters and motions people have made and uploaded. The author didn't make the assets, just at most slapped together some into a generic character, or more likely downloaded ones someone else made - at least one character I recognize, so that probably means downloaded.
The flat same-face you'll see frequently comes from these assets, it's koikatsu faces. They're pretty bad. Some modders have made better faces / expressions, but since it's all disorganized mods from all over multiple places most people just use the base assets. There's a limit to what they can do to improve as well.
There is nothing that "developers" of these shovelware VNs can do to improve them because they do not make them, just cobble together existing assets and slop some writing over the top.
Haven't played this Game yet, and i'm not complaining or anything but why is there no virgin tag...? Knowing Shido doormat anime harem MC personality he never goes beyond kissing (and he's pretty much forced by plot ), i remember kurumi had sex with him in a different timeline or smt idk, not a Big fan of the anime, i'm just curious.
Seems like it could be a great game xD but should add sound and some light moaning and plap noises.
Its kinda like most important factor of a game , Like if you play persona 5 and turn off sound it make for a pretty boring adventure
So, is this gonna be multiple worlds with the same MC stealing the girls in a single game or is this one gonna be only Date a Live and then another different game in another world? To clarify, single game with multiple worlds or multiple games in a single world?

Well, for one, it's Shido, the guy is literally the embodiment of standard Harem protagonist, though he does become a bit interesting later on, but still meh, and I'm not desperate enough to self-insert as a boring ass goody-2shoes with no personality MC. For two, relieving Date-a-Live story exactly as the anime, manga, or LN is... Boring, in my opinion. I can always do that by watching or reading the canon story. Finally, to fully address your concerns, it's Netori. Of course it has to be some other dude or can you actually imagine Shido taking another person's lover? I can't, unless you want somebody replacing Shido's soul.
Anyway, to the game dev, I really like this story of yours and funnily enough, the premise is similar to some of my ideas for fanfics lmao. Looking forward to reading what else you got stored in that brain of yours for this VN
So I just played the game it's pretty good for early states and after it development hell I presume. I have alot to said but all of these all require well people or skill or money to fix like model (they're flat/lifeless, emotionless, expression sometimes fell flat, either you get them personally make or skill enough to make your own like Android life or electric sheep developers), second the background it just a imagine paste on sometimes, and third the art (I know ai is popping off but I hope these are just place holder that will be replaced when you had build a solid fanbase and supporters). And where is the visual novel part of this? This is basically just a kinetic novel game.
I too have alot of positive thing to say firstly good job in making use of all the resources you have, I do feel a passion for this project from you. So I hope you alot of success. But here some advice all the above just let them for the time since you can't fix it for now focus on smaller thing develop it game play (really needed), andd two the story interesting concepts just don't make stupid plot and you're good, and third polished and customize the ui a bit like a border for buttons simple stuff, maybe low opacity black box so the dialogue is easier to read, some customs text font to add dynamic (electric sheep), and my personal request a real name for the mc like not mc or 'insert name' a real name if possible

Don't compare me to games that spend half a year polishing every version update. I don't have the time or enough money to support that kind of development. Once I stabilize, I hope to update twice a month.
For the models, I've used a very small amount of online resources(Some hair, clothes, pupils), but most of them are completely self-made, and I've been continuously optimizing them, I don't want to explain to you guys how I went from the game's default character to the one I have now after spending a dozen hours improving it step by step. In v0.45, I improved the models for every character. The current story mainly focuses on Origami, so don’t expect a faceless character to have too many meaningful, emotional expressions. I’ve used more realistic rendering and reduced the anime-style elements. If I use expressions that are too exaggerated, they make the face look ugly.
I use some online resources just to reduce the time spent trying to make the characters look more like anime figures. I don't think any online model is better than the ones I make myself. For non-original characters, you might find familiar parts, but what about Hakurya?
Regarding the "flat" that has been mentioned multiple times. Dude, these aren't koikatsu faces, these are fucking anime face. Even if you download models from games like Genshin Impact, Wuthering Waves , or Arknights: Endfield, or you model them yourself in blender, they're all the flat, lack lips and nose, and their eyes are just textures. Unless you want to create a monster.
The Koikatsu scenes are really poor, and it’s hard to find suitable ones, so I had to use AI-generated images to replace them. Putting a large house with a white background doesn't really add anything. I can integrate the characters better into the backgrounds, like in a few of the scenes in the Kurumi chapter, but that takes a lot of time, it is also impossible to have a coherent conversation.
If the AI is good enough, I’ll use it. I can't spend thousands or tens of thousands to make a video or hire someone to draw. As for some of the AI-generated characters, I'll be replacing them with models when they make their official appearance.
I make hundreds of images every month, and right now my monthly income is under $150. I'm sorry, but I just don’t have the energy to polish every detail on my own, unable to scrutinize every images every expression.
I can't resonate with the three points you mentioned in the first part.
I don't have enough skills? Bro, I made my previous game two years ago, and all the models were 100% self-made. Apart from the original assets from Koikatsu, there was not a single piece that I downloaded from the internet. I showed 14 characters, Do you think they look bad or lack character?
If you think putting a character with completely default hair, default eyes, default body, default shaders into an all-white room is a better skill, something that needs time and money to fix, then you really should fix your eyes. You can say my animations are not as good as theirs, and that's true. But saying anything else, that's not going to work.
As for the rest, I can’t think of any interesting gameplay that would suit this game. I’ll add a slider for dialogue box opacity in the next update. The MC doesn’t have a name; whenever I’m thinking any plot, I just refer to he as MC.
Thank you so much for your guys suggestions, including many from before, I know you guys mean well. But most of them, aside from temporarily discouraging me, don't hold much significance. Please don't overlook some objective conditions. I can't have the update frequency of Corrupted Kingdoms, the text volume of Lessons in Love, the hand-drawn expressions of Android LIFE, the self-made animations of Electric Sheep, and the sex animations of Goddesses' Whim, all while also developing gameplay, special effects, music, sound effects, and UI, I know they're better in some way.
Many "suggestions" feel more like criticism to me. As a developer who hasn't yet succeeded, having confidence in my creations is one of the driving forces that keeps me going. When all you do is use a bunch of adjectives to say that some things are bad without offering any valuable suggestions for improvement, the only effect is discouraging me. For reference, this is a reply I made on a developer forum before.
I’m not an incompetent developer, I have the ability to handle most things aside from drawing, like creating custom animations with a timeline, I can basically do everything that other developers using the same engine can do, and what they didn't do I did. But what I lack the most is time. I have too many stories in my mind that I want to tell, and I can't keep updating slowly under this pressure. Don't ask me to do as much in half a month as someone else does in half year.
What I want to say is that I am continuously improving and elevating myself, and I will release better sex animations in v0.5.
