I'm hoping that in time my patreons can come back to support the game, but it's not something I'm overly concerned about. I'll keep making games anyway (and for sure the next ones will have a little shorter and less complex stories, so I can finish them faster).
I don't think anyone misunderstands the complexities of the coding side of the game and I certainly don't see anyone doubt your abilities on that end of things. The only thing people are aggrieved at are the bullshit timelines you give for landing parts of the game/updates (sorry, I have to call it like it is and be frank, even though I'm not Frank).
If I were your PR guy (and I'm not and I know that) I would have advised you to release the last update as you did, mention that it is a partial update with Sunday missing but that Sunday, in itself, would be
THE NEXT FULL UPDATE and it would take some time to complete. Honestly that is all people want to hear, if you say I can crank it out in a week or so and 6 weeks later shit has happened, the game doesn't suffer but your reputation does and that is a damn shame.
And just to emphasize peoples frustrations, the first thing I do when I come to the zone is search NCC to see if it has been updated.......you say it is ready in a week and I'm searching every day for 2 months, I hope you understand a little better how other people see things with your game.
In very short, great game, good dev, just don't give specific fucking update times
