This game has been out for six years now. I'm not sure whats more sad, how little the game has grown in that time or the fact that it is still easily the best game in this genre, how did every game that tried to copy it stuff up so bad.
To give credit where credit is due the sex scenes interactivity and flow coupled with the personality traits of the characters is just awesome work, but that has been in since the beginning more or less and the failing to really build on that is what's disappointing.This game has been out for six years now. For example, if you look at Accidental Woman or Female Agent, building the framework seems to be manageable to a certain point, but once you need to write content beyond the intro that actually takes into account all the relevant character differences, producing content just grinds to a halt because any given scene just balloons to >10 times the size internally due to all the different combinations of character traits (e.g. let's say a scene will have about 500 words that you actually see on any single playthrough, internally the whole thing is actually >5000 words long due to all the possible paths it can take).
Commenters here seem to really hate those scenes and complain about scenes or paths that require "ridiculously specific" conditions. The implication seems to be that every scene should be applicable to every character, or perhaps that scenes that aren't applicable to every character shouldn't be written. I can't shake the feeling that these complaints are from people that insist on treating the game as though its a visual novel where plot and branching paths are what the game is built around. How are those comparable? A sex scene in CoC or TiTS is completely linear in how it plays out, with body part descriptions inserted were appropriate. To be fair, the more expansive scenes will have different paths given different PC stats, but they still play out exactly the same every time given a PC with the same stats. Text generation has lots and lots of parameters, and text-code is fairly complicated. They have text parser akin to renpy stuff, while if I am not mistaken this game uses if elses and outs a string afterwards. Both are same in principle, but text parser is easier for non-coders and even coders themselves to use. You people were talking about having lots and lots of different results depending on parameters, and CoC or TiTS both take in account a plethora of those parameters, like skills, appearance, limbs, etc. and show text based off that.How are those comparable? Of course. My general complaint about newlife is that more and more far fetched stuff gets into the game without making the gameplay a better experience where general stuff is missing. That's all. The examples where only given to illustrate my opinion.Like always in these games, there are many ideas, but few people to implement them. Not a perfect solution, but if you trait a dude to like kids and stick around, they'll propose if pregnant and are told about it.I hate this latest update, for whatever reason it is absurdly difficult to get any men to ask me to be their girlfriend even with every favorable trait(I've designed a 'perfect man' and cant get him to propose marriage even after 184 weeks! I did manage to get him to boyfriend status after only like 10 weeks though.) without spending half a year dating them?! Though the worst thing about it is that you cant propose as the woman. Is there a fix or custom scene to resolve this?
