click on "test npc" on the starting screen, maybe your character has two conflicting traits
First off, are you putting your characters in newlife\newlife_gamedata\user_created_npcs folder?
If they're in the right spot, is the Hypnotist line blocking it? I'm not really sure, I think with priority 1 and hypnotist it might put him in the 'nice hypnotist' slot.
(I just use a character creator and then copy/paste them into the folder, sorry.)

Last time I checked it was a two years ago or something. Can someone give a quick brief about most important changes?
With a bit of snark, There have been no meaningful significant changes in 2 years beyond now being able to hand edit your save files as you please and to adjust the random NPC generation, beyond making custom ones.

the two most recent update branches have added pregnancy scenes and lesbian relationships. but the core of the game is unchanged and is unlikely to change in any meaningful way.
IIRC, you can't have "IMPREGNATOR" and "LIKES_ANAL" anymore. They're conflicting traits.
If the file attached is the one you're using it's because it's a .txt file. You need to make it a .yml file.
90% of the updates for this game is the dev just screwing around with the engine. Very little content ever gets added. Just a handful of very short events, per year. You're better off with something like Lilith's Throne, to be honest.

Speaking of tiny updates, does anyone know what these new "Weekend Events" are? I'm assuming this is another one of those things where you need crazy specific sets of traits on both the PC and her girlfriend, but I haven't managed to see any new scenes at all. Anyone?
Needs "Likes to share" in the traits, which means manually adding LIKES_TO_SHARE to the character because it can't be added via the creator linked above. Sleep around, get caught, agree to open relationship and if you're doing nothing on the weekend you might get the event trigger.

hmmm, thanks. I'm using a girlfriend with likes to share, and the PC knows and they're in an open relationship. But have gone weeks and weeks with just "relax at home" for weekend activity and no joy. RNJesus just hates me I guess.
