It's always so damn off putting any time any developer complains about some real life issues.
In this games case it was anxiety and migraines.
I know I sound like a dick but...
They will be like:
"My dog died." or "My mom is sick." or "My girlfriend has cancer." or "I broke my leg." or "My house caught on fire.' or "I had to go to grandmas funeral." or "I got mugged." or "My car got a flat tire." or "I have been dealing with heroin addiction." or "I been going through a rough divorce."
Same goes for positive things that may have happened to them.
"I just had a baby" or "I adopted a new dog." or "I got a promotion at work." or "I got married." or "I bought a new house." or "I won the lottery." or "I love my new car." or "I found jesus!"
My response is always the same.
I don't care unless this effects the update and production of the game. I don't want excuses. I want a game update not a life update.

It is as off-putting for me as if I went to McDonalds with the goal to order some chicken mcnuggets but the cashier instead of serving my mcnuggets in an expedient and efficient manner throws professionalism out the window and decided to just tell me their life story and about all their problems.
"Yea, that sucks.... Good luck with that! So... them nuggets ready or what?"

Well, despite the frustrating glacial pace of updates it's still quite disappointing to see this finally be abandoned.
The base game is pretty much done but it's a unique concept with a lot more to offer. I went to check the discord & saw some suggestion from 2021 I believe about having different types of NPC beyond their personality type, based on their job 7 what not. Another suggestion for adding family, like a step dad, which I mentioned in past comments here as well.
I hope some other non-lazy devs tries to replicate it.

Imagine making filthy amounts of money from two days work a month and then just abandoning it. Well he still has over 500 patreons wich is like 3k a month or even more. There are people on patreon that just keep getting payed years without doing anything ... maybe i should just learn how to make a porn game...

How many times have you said goodbye in a social platform before abandoing it? My friends on xbox said, "see you tomorrow" and it's been 15 years.

He has 543 supporters still. His minimum tier is $5. That's at least $2,715 per month, and probably more.
This is at least $32,580 per year.
If a person works 40 hours per week 15 dollars an hour 52 weeks a year that is only $31,200
Expanding this game is fairly easy. 0 Visual art is required.
He doesn't need to work 40 hours a week to keep this going forever.

They must have been hit by a bus or something.
What bothered me was his supporters arguing and screaming at us when we told him his lack of updates was unacceptable and that we would stop supporting him. A lot of people here ignored the signs consistantly and then you complain about how some developers take advantage of their supporters. You need to understand rules just like you understand boundaries. Giving someone standards such as one update a month minimum is like having a rule and people who break rules get eradicated, giving them one or two passes is fine but follow the three strike rule. But also see it as your boundaries, you are being taken advantage of by a developer when they constantly take from you and dont give back.
Thats my point of view.... come at me all you like i stand by this. Also if you see this as a positive way of explaining things to people feel free to quote this on other posts on the forum

maker before you leave pls let the mc become able to become the landlord's slave then slave marriage after that so that they can fuck like rabbits cuz thats the one scene that i wanna see before this game disappears T_T

Like the signs werent there years ago... this why people go through so much. They ignore red flags like they the plague
Last two years was basically just just make it playable for "more" people, as in gay, bi ect. More customers, little to no improvements.
Because it's clunky AF to mod for. You're stuck using the NPCs the opaque black-box main game feeds into the scene you're hijacking / replacing, and you have to account for every possible variation and combination of the several dozen PC traits that could viably impact the scene. I tried doing general replacement scenes for a while, then threw up my hands and just wrote stuff for myself, only worrying about trait combinations I prefer.
Tack on the annoying syntax requirements, like one stray whitespace character anywhere in the .yml breaking the entire thing, and it's a nightmare to modify.

I think the "Abandoned" tag should be removed. The developer posted news yesterday.
Removing the abandoned tag requires a new release, not just blog posts.
