Don't you know that generally, depictions of murder are perfectly fine but sexual stuff is icky? But also... I think the whole Japanese censorship actually date back to the British controlling Japan for a bit, or something? My history isn't perfect.

Greg believes this isn't the first game with guro depictions in it also nowhere near the first game with gore in general either.
There has been certainly a few Greg has seen that have gotten removed from the store page though as well so it's whatever really.

I hate to tell you this, but guro shit is mainstream, as long as you don't show a dick or a boob. This stuff is tame compared to a Mortal Kombat fatality animation. If this game gets into trouble it is only for the sex stuff.
Maybe I missed Guro on steam before, but generally it's the sexualization of the violence that is more considered an issue, no? Violent video games or whatever, fine, but not sexualization of murder/torture.
Guro and gore are two different things though, to be fair. Mortal Kombat fatalities are not sexual at all, lol.

Greg only sees it as an issue if the games aren't tagged and have explicit warnings explaining their content, as long as they do this Greg could really care less.
Guro in of itself is nothing new and steams becoming more of a cesspool of content anyways.

For me the gore and sex are orthogonal. If a game is bloody it is bloody. If it is sexy it is sexy. If it is both, it's just both.
I don't even read much in short novel let alone read very long VN 50 hours. impossible. the CGs look unique with blood and gore and sex.

You can buy Winter Memories on Steam. If sexualizing a minor gets a pass then I'm guessing a bit of violence and gore does too.

People shit on Japan censoring their porn while being okay with gore, but the same can be said about the west with all their FPS, games like GTA where you commit crimes, or gruelsome scenes like Mortal Kombat and Dead Space. But sex? Nah dawg, THINK OF THE CHILDREN! You would be VERY lucky if they let an exposed titty into the game.
