I've tried to play multiple ren'py games (latest one being corruption) but i cant hear any audio from them. There is an audio file, the game settings are not on mute, ive messed with my PCs audio settings but the problem doesnt seem originate from there. is there a way to check the code or link the audio directory to the game? some thing i can check?

any and all help would be much appreciated, thank you to everyone in advance.

What is not surprising...

There is an audio file, [...]
No, there isn't. And it's precisely the reason why you can't hear anything, because there's nothing to hear.

What your screenshot show is not part of the game, but part of the engine used to make the game, and it's not an audio file, it's a code file.

Just install the following mod package:

Ren'PY Universal Music Mod

^ It will install some default audio files in your Ren'PY game where you can play default musical tracks instead of listening in silence.

An in-game audio player interface allows you to cycle through various musical playlists. Some tracks represent different moods. So, you can play vibrant/happy music during a funny scene in the game and/or play tense music when drama/action is going on in the game.
