Hold it right there! This may not be the update you were looking for.
I have some bad news in this post, so I suggest you read it carefully.
First, apologies for the delay. I’ve been in focus mode for the last 24 hours trying to resolve issues with
version 0.19.0. For context, I received feedback about the abrupt escalation in Liz’s situation when transitioning from the
Lovers Path to the
Happy Path. To address this, I created an adaptive buffer path that doesn’t stop the fast escalation but makes it feel less instantaneous and more natural.
During QA, however, I noticed the
Happy Path was not working as it should, and upon further investigation, the
Lovers Path was completely bricked. At first, I suspected a few
Richard events (which kick you to the Happy Path) were the cause, but after hours of digging, I discovered the new buffer path was the culprit. I tried isolating the issue to just the Lovers Path, but it ended up causing a hard lock on
both the Happy and Lovers Paths. As a result, I’ve decided to
temporarily remove both paths for now.
The reason? My job requires my full attention for the next three days, leaving me little (if any) time to fix this. Since the
NTR Path has no major issues - most bugs seem to plague the Lovers Path and occasionally the Happy Path - I’ve opted to release
v0.19.1 and patch the missing paths later.
That doesn’t mean there’s nothing new for Happy/Lovers Path enjoyers, though! I’ve added
many leaked chats to provide more context for events in the story. These are unlocked by progressing through the actual narrative, so you won’t get them retroactively.
Now most of the development time this release went into updating the save system, the leaked chats and implementing them into the entire timeline and gaining some much needed skills for this and future releases. A huge part of development is learning new things to achieve your goals. But just being able to do something is half of the work. It is even more important to be able to do them efficiently so it does not eat into your development time. Which is one of the things what I spent most of my time on.
Now, let’s dive into what
is in
v0.19.1:
- Updated stats screen (more lively + new insights).
- Revamped save system (Reloading saves no longer require you to restart the game).
- Censored image support in leaked chats (respects your settings).
- Optimized video support for in-game animations.
- 21 new leaked chats (requires a fresh playthrough to unlock).
- NTRS Route prep (detaching further, almost ready to branch off).
- Option to reject the fortune teller’s prophecy.
- Default wallpapers (from a Discord contest).
- Unlocked secrets now save to your gallery (non-persistent) and can be set as wallpapers.
- Bug fixes (e.g., out-of-order messages, hacked chat display issues).
- Overall polish.
- NTR story continuation.
Why skip to v0.19.1?
I squashed so many bugs in the last 24 hours that calling this "0.19.0" no longer made sense.
Going forward:
- ShareSpace comments and the Patreon supporter list will now be added/updated in separate post-release patches. This keeps major versions focused on the core game.
A quick side note:
I’ve been radio silent for ~24 hours, and it seems all hell broke loose . My apologies - when I’m in deep focus, updates slip my mind. That said, it’s heart-warming to see your passion for playing the game rival mine for creating it.
To
Happy/Lovers Path fans: I
fully understand your frustration - I’ve felt it myself these past 24 hours. Please don’t see this as a "punishment" but as a
fine-tuning for both paths.
Thank you all for being awesome.
