Honestly, I like that. This must be one of the most unique ways to do a NTR-themed game that has a lovers/good path. I rarely ever see a game that gives you the option to be on a path where the antagonist starts as an asshole but changes his approach (while still being that fuckboy on the inside) to get the girl and her falling for it. I think the cool thing about this is that you can maintain that NTR/cheating theme in a low-intensity kind of way and provide a path that basically has 2 possible variations: the first one being you succeeding in keeping her loving you and "defeating" Matt, and the other branch where he slowly but steadily wins despite your best efforts. It also eliminates the old problem with many NTR games where the MC either has to be a total idiot or dismissive of his girlfriend and the player has the make decisions on purpose that nobody who loves a girl would really do in real life (show her the cold shoulder, ignore her, not give her affection) or the girl has to be tricked and blackmailed until she is "corrupted" or even just "mindbroken and horny", etc.Creator seems very dedicated to keep a proper Lover path, but also wants variety of options. I'm pretty confident whatever Matt will try in Lover's path can be circumvented to keep things vanilla. But it allows, if you choose otherwise, to switch to NTR path later on. This may seem odd (why change path after that long ? would someone who wants NTR not start from the get go ?), but it could also be an opportunity to make a more "emotional" NTR path where the girl doesn't cheat on MC because she's plain horny, but because she's straight up falling in love for someone else (Matt). Not the same kind of NTR (and actually I kinda prefer this type lol). Also, by the way, there will be an NTRS route in the game, that's one way to start one.
I think that is a really fresh and new way to approach things, esp. since its just one path (possibly with 2 branches) and not the entire game. So you still have the option to go for the corruption-heavy path (which I normally prefer). It's really cool to have that in a NTR game. I hope more games tread that line of the antagonist basically "tricking" the FMC (while still being an asshole) so the FMC falls for them. It's not like the antagonist being an asshole changes, he just changes his strategy after seeing that the initial blackmail stuff is not as effective, then he sweetens her up and makes her believe he is not that bad a guy, gets her used to some of his more asshole tendencies (rough sex, treating her like an object on occasion, possessiveness, etc.). But at this point she is so infatuated with him that she will just accept that as part of him. He basically brainwashes her without brainwashing. Highly manipulative and even in a plausible way. This is great writing.
