Yeah the only way a dev can release 1 update a month is if they stick to the core plot/game and ditch the feature creep. People just want to play a adult VN with choices, they don't need a damn fully functional phone with tons of extra apps as well. Seems like at minimum all the NTR/NTS phone game devs do the same crap with some kind of Instagram clone that they have to create content for that has nothing to do with the main plot. NTR mobile is taking it several steps further with extra apps related to the whole mind control subplot. There's no way he can release 12 updates next year when 0.20 was in July and 0.21 in september with 0.22 nowhere in sight.
I was thinking about this when I was starting my own game and I just couldn't make any sense of it. I wanted to make a phone game with optional NTR content. You have to keep the mystery of NTR plausible enough but if you keep the MC in the dark enough to be realistic, you wouldn't have any actual content. So people cram in Instagram and spyware apps and webcams and whatever which is a way to show more content of the girl acting slutty but then how is the MC seeing all this shit and still somehow 'in the dark'? Plus all that crap adds a lot of dev time. I just said to hell with it and stuck to phone only.Yeah the only way a dev can release 1 update a month is if they stick to the core plot/game and ditch the feature creep. Like I said earlier in the thread - the true mistake is making it diegetic to the game/narrative - I.E. including all functions of the phone the player interacts with as something the MC sees. NTROS is an example of how to handle the separation - a clear delineation between what is the narrative and what is for 'the player'.I was thinking about this when I was starting my own game and I just couldn't make any sense of it. What's NTROS? I don't recognize the acronymLike I said earlier in the thread - the true mistake is making it diegetic to the game/narrative - I.E. including all functions of the phone the player interacts with as something the MC sees. And yes, I do agree - the mystery/tension is part of what makes it hot, but the player needs more than just a suspicion.
Alongside the common issue with NTR that tends to make it bad writing being that there's no actual payoff for the narrative karma the female lead accumulates over the course of the narrative, some find it hot, most don't.
Never Trust Reality (the original name had O.S. at the end). What's NTROS? I don't recognize the acronym
I've come to the conclusion that every time the question is asked, God throws obstacles in the devs way. He's active enough in the discord talking about the game that I believe it's not abandoned. When will the update be released? Wasn't it supposed to be this weekend? Has it been delayed again? Will it be released later?
Is the discord a patreon only type of deal? I've seen other people talking about it but I've never seen a link anywhere.I've come to the conclusion that every time the question is asked, God throws obstacles in the devs way. That should answer your questionbut I've never seen a link anywhere.
The discord is linked to your patreon account if your are subbed. Is the discord a patreon only type of deal? I've seen other people talking about it but I've never seen a link anywhere.
I don't think they can even then. Stories like this tend to balloon in size and complexity no matter what since the dev has to juggle multiple branches with all the choices they entail from way back then. Many people (perhaps including the dev) severely underestimate just how much work that is, potential breakage included. Personally, I think less is more and Nosy should have ended it sooner - instead we have updates dragging on longer and longer and the feature creep making an already difficult situation even worse. Just speaking for myself, but it mostly killed my engagement with the game. Definitely makes you appreciate titles like Falling Undercover with multiple devs and an obviously functioning project management with a tight grip on release cycles.Yeah the only way a dev can release 1 update a month is if they stick to the core plot/game and ditch the feature creep. yes, that game has done it best. this game is confused because richard says "the app will give you emotes, physical reactions, etc and you will get more info as the nanobots multiply". and then the game gives the mc emotes, physical reactions etc and information that gets clearer over time. but we are supposed to ignore what richard said in the game and instead pay attention to what the dev said in some discord chatLike I said earlier in the thread - the true mistake is making it diegetic to the game/narrative - I.E. including all functions of the phone the player interacts with as something the MC sees. Game of thrones?? heheheheI honestly think he should just drop this game out entirely.
If he's not even having fun with the game anymore, then it'll very obviously affect the game's overall quality. And his very patient patreon members don't deserve something like that.
At this point, he's just milking the game for what it is. Wouldn't be surprised if comes out and drops a half-assed ending, then drops the whole thing.
I mean Xmas is coming, so we’ll probably hear something like that soonCan't wait for the inevitable delay into 2026 because of "burn-out". Free money from patreon is too good to miss out.
