tbh, i cancled my sup last month because the last update was low and then 1 month nearly finished

Same, re-upped my subscription because the promise it would be done by the beginning of... two weeks ago.
Lesson learned, only support for an actual drop.
I think it's pretty normal that when coding unforseen issues may arise. I don't get why people would be upset about it. If you're supporting someone to create something it stands to reason to not stop when that someone is facing hardships. Communication note aside I see nothing wrong with it.
'hardships' isn't what i'd use to describe a situation they themselves admit came from bad planning, leading into failing to meet a deadline they themselves set before going radio silent.

it wouldn't surprise me if saves get broken since he updated/upgraded so many systems in the game
