Played Labyrinth of Servitude and Liberation last night. Honestly, pretty decent game, compared to recent releases anyway. Would've liked more build up to the NTR tho. The side scenes were a chore to get and the map was unnecessarily complicated. Also, why show multiple douchebags if u aren't gonna use them smh. Try the game out if your r starved for NTR content.

Also, it might be a me issue but I have started to get bored of the repetative gameplay formula all these NTR rpgs have been doing till now. Go here, select this specific option or lose a fight, go home and sleep, go to recollection room to see what happened, rinse, repeat,. It used to be fine, but now I'm just tired of this trope. Devs need to start cooking up unique ways to do NTR in the gameplay.

I agree 100%

Gameplay wasnt that important to me some time ago because most of the time it was either unnecessary, badly designed or too grindy. It was added just for the sake of beeing there, without any reason or goal. Also the market was flooded with bad and cheap games that had bad gameplay mechanics or wanted to be a huge sandbox.

But since we’ve got games like SAO, Navigating the Rift and Solgante NTR-aligned gameplay has actually reshaped my thinking a lot.
I am glad that even some Ren’Py games like Nox Syndicate: Falling Undercover from Azienda have catched on and at least in a very basic manner try to implement some basic gameplay mechanics such as status screens. But there is a lot more potential.

Well all in all I learned - while bad gameplay really is a huge hindrance for a porn game, very well implemented gameplay which is aligned with and adapted to the (mystery) NTR, story and overall goal it actually raises the porn and ntr aspects to a whole new level. Gameplay seems to either be a curse or a blessing and only rarely inbetween. Still there is a lot of unused potential. Gameplay mechanics offer so many creative ways to shape a game - they could even become a real USP and add an individual touch to each NTR devs works. Even bigger more successful devs such as N_taii could delve deeper into this.

I actually totally agree with this. It's a bit surprising that more devs haven't started exploring ways to embed the NTR elements into the actual gameplay loop. We've a few examples like The Perfect Pair or Spider and Butterfly which both play on those themes, but I think there's room for more.

A feisty, overly cocky heroine running off to her own battles, but sometimes getting in over her head and needing the protagonist to rescue her... hopefully he's close enough to hear her pleas in the first place. An Ico-like game where you're escorting a relatively helpless girl who is specifically targeted by enemies, which will drag her off into a portal and do... "things" to her if the player gets too bogged down by fighting other enemies targeting them specifically.

Etc., etc. There's a dozen different angles for real-time elements that add to the intensity of the game, requiring some baseline level of skill from the player in combat and raising the stakes. With some careful design the player gets reasonable amounts of titillation, a tolerable level of challenge to keep the game going, and a slight corruption angle where the heroine starts to change during their adventure and the MC doesn't know why.

Strange author

At this rate, before the game comes out, all the art will be shown and we can consider the game completed. :HideThePain:

I've had a similar problem when following Nikusuke's Ci-En, I've kind of ruined a lot of scenes for myself just because I couldn't stop myself from scrolling down and watching the full previews.

Big facts.

I think the moments I most often notice that I'm playing a game with that format and get bored is when the mystery pre-recollection room scenes aren't great. If all I see is a heart above a door and some moans coming from somewhere I can't see, I'm not gonna be that excited to run to the recollection room and see what I'm missing. But if I'm getting the whole nine yards with silhouettes, good sounds, proper build-up, lewd hints the mc doesn't understand, then nothing is gonna be more exciting than opening that recollection room and peeping the full context. Like all tropes, there can certainly be a fatigue of the same shit, but at the end of the day it most often just boils down to a skill issue between devs.

the author chiba shuusaku did this so well with his ntr work midgard hes one of the artists that did something ive always liked similiar to sanbun kyoden where the woman is being corrupted in the background and you can see subtle changes to them as they go about their lives. things their significant others or friends and family dont really notice, thats something that i love about ntr seeing the girls try to keep up a normal facade while getting corrupted where no one sees. its hotter in my opionion when its a strong confident one as well.
