Imo a hot concept would be NTR after a glowup. Basically a story where FMC starts overweight or maybe wears wacky clothes and is shy but has a relationship with MC, after her glowup she gets lots of attention that she isn't used to and is corrupted by an antagonist that noticed it. Not sure how to describe it, something similar to Metamorphosis but less fucked up. I just love shy girls getting railed it's so hot.

This is what I liked about NTR Homestay 2, as far as the overweight thing goes. But yeah, something along the lines of Metamorphosis would be good.

You could probably get a killer vanilla prologue out of something like that, since it's not really something that should be rushed.

I think that this is a good try. Felt too romantic to be honest and let's ignore the obvious ridiculous blackmail and how fast she accepted most of it, its better than a lot of new ones, I'd give it a 5.

How do people feel about the Dungeon & Bride game by Makura cover soft? I have to say I feel like it's a big let-down in the h-scene/NTR department. The actual game is very very good and is fun without any h-content, and there are lewd mechanics in the game such as the dressing up and the inn management which, in principle, are quite hot. The game had all the right tools for an NTR harem bonanza - but with several weird design choices (such as a game over if Max or Linus fucks every girl currently in your party enough times, NTR antagonists suddenly stop having sex with certain heroines once their development is maxed (can't tell if that's a bug)), I feel like the potential for true NTR sandbox was squandered.

I just finished it, and I think you are right on the money with your critique. Followed this game's development for such a long time because I absolutely adored the nostalgic artstyle that he was going for... but found myself so disappointed.

Honestly, what a huge shame. I had such high hopes for this one... and now all of my "NTR game" eggs are left in the basket of Cominami's next game, because it looks like the next year or two is going to have an incredibly thin selection.

I find the pacing for NTR / Corruption in Western VN's very fast, like suddenly your GF becomes slut - admittedly have only played a couple of Japanese VN's but writing / pacing and overall much higher quality - I also find that expressions are better conveyed (ahego, blushing etc.) through 2D art rather than Daz 3D based models

Like if you’re gonna make your bull nice and relatable then it just becomes netori.
If the wife is going to open her legs to anyone that smiles at her, then she’s just a h×e.
Can’t really cultivate feelings of jealousy and NTR if it’s just each party getting what they deserve.

I know writing slow corruption with a resisting heroine is hard, while having the heroine fall in minutes is easy (and quick payoff for gooners).
But good NTR it does not make.

I'd argue that it can maximize feelings of jealously and betrayal precisely because the antagonist doesn't necessarily pull any underhanded moves to get want he wants. If done correctly, it intensifies the sense in the MC that they were just in the way of something better. That in itself seems pretty devastating to me.

I think "Wholesome NTR" can get bogged down by this idea that it all functions solely on the kindness of the antagonist, when at the end of the day, the heroine is still getting some Grade-A dick. It's just that the antagonist is a little less mean-spirited than what's typically expected.

It feels like this dev is more passionate about making an interesting gameplay than H-content. And he somehow doesn't learn that unavoidable NTR events and the whole gameplay around avoiding it don't pair well. Inn management is cool, but dissapointed that all your male companions are just rapists. I honestly thought Max would be a romantic rival. Also this game falls into typical hentai logic where girls never talk about being raped during their Inn stay despite MC explicitly warning that he will kick guys out of party if they keep harassing them. They don't have any reason to keep quiet, one word and the whole NTR falls apart.
I loved the gameplay but some classes really lack compatible equipment. Also it suffers from the lack of any guidance on your progression. It's worth to give this game a try but it's not good for quick fap or any at all if you don't dig devs art style.

I agree with your sentiment and would like to expand on this.

A decent NTR will have the player form a connection with the protagonist. We should be rooting for the main couple and be upset when they break up. If the game doesn’t have you sympathize with the main couple, then it should be labeled netori. The mis-labeling is really bad and it doesn’t help when writers advertise netori stories as netorare and netori fans think they’re reading netorare (when they actually like netori).

If the bull is understanding, kind, and overall better person than the protagonist, without pulling underhanded tricks, then the heroine simply went to a better person. Now, you can still invoke feelings of jealousy even in this situation, but that requires good writing which makes you connect with the protagonist (and not cheer for the bull for winning fairly).

In this scenario, however, it seems protagonist is barely relevant in the story (which is sadly common in modern NTR). And the heroine herself is not a sympathetic character, either. So the game devolves into a basic cheating story, which doesn’t invoke the same jealous feelings as a classic NTR would. I’m going to play the game later and see if this is really the case, but I’ll be sad if I get burned with another false NTR story, lol.

I really miss older NTR works where protagonists would have monologs or daily scenes with the heroine to really drive home that romantic ”fated connection,” which is then painfully torn apart by the bull. A girlfriend who used to make bentos and call you everyday, gradually being stolen and molded by the bull to someone who treats you like an absolute stranger.

Nowadays, it’s too often protagonist is busy with work/impotent, wife gets lonely and starts experimenting, and boom NTR.

Which is why, despite the fact that I'm defending it, I don't have any concrete examples of a complete "Wholesome NTR" that's well done that I can recall (that aren't small injections of it in the typical NTR). Even decent writing is hard to come by in this scene regardless of genre, but there's still an irrational part of me that hopes that the concept altogether isn't completely thrown out. Regardless of how difficult it is, I believe there's some value there.
