I am fairly new in the NTR world but I don't get why there's so much hate against NTRMan lol.

How are his last games NOT ntr? SoL chapter one has the mom being stolen, SoL chapter two does have the guy have sex with the girl at first but then she's ALSO stolen! I think I read the NTR is optional but tbh I don't care? If you're gonna play the game in the NTR route, it is still pretty NTR.

Tenants of the Dead? Also a lot of NTR and the girl being stolen in the end. Granted, there's like one ending where the guy can get laid with some other girl but who cares? Just don't play that way lol

Maybe I'm missing something very obvious as I'm very new to this, but I really don't think it deserves that much hate, I don't think giving their games a not-NTR route means they are deviating too much from the NTR genre as long as the NTR routes are good.

the quality in the writing is noticeable. I always say that his best works are the shota/milf content, NTR or not. it all blew up with his latest island game you do notice how there is no buildup or tension in the NTR scenes. compared to his initial works. hmm. the easiest way to see it is to watch the Arrival of the goddess comic then play the arrival of the goddes game. the diference is night and day.

A lot of the hate comes from him deviating from what he became known for. Yes, SOL is good NTR so far, but that something he did quite a while ago. His latest game was very bad NTR imo. He spent too much time making bad mini games and having the MC with lots of vanilla content that the NTR in it suffered. NTRman started out making some of the best netorare in the market. But has since been doing poor netorase and half ass netori.

Now to be fair to NTRman, thats because he doesn't do the writing anymore and just does the art and programming. But the hate has built u over the course of several games that have been lackluster.

The issue with having a vanilla route usually means I have to actively make choices to stay on the NTR route which completely ruins it for me. Also, he got hate for his very short instant corruption games. Personally, I am fine with those occasionally, since its still has decent netorare compared to his latest game.

Ultiimately, his name is NTRman, not VanillaMan. So trying to do a vanilla route just doesn't fit with what he is supposed to be at its core. It comes off as wasting time on a route that is not for his core audience. That dev time could have been used making the NTR routes better.

I can agree with his newer works not being that good with The Lust Voyage being the worst of all of them and the only thing they have going for them is the art and animation. But I never really found much buildup or tension in his older works either not as bad now but still.

NTRman started out making some of the best netorare in the market.

I mean I agree if talking about the artwork and animation NTRman is up there. But in terms of story and characters he's mid tier at best.

Oh that is actually a fair point. I can agree the writting and build-up in that one and some other new ones is terrible, but I don't think that makes the games less NTR? just poorly written NTR if anything. Unless you associate NTR to not only the woman being stolen but it happening progressively and developed in a believable way, which I guess I just don't see it that way. What I'm saying is I don't think he turned vanilla because his writting got sloppy, I still think it is NTR nonetheless.

To me, sometimes it is interesting when the female is just ready to throw herself at someone else's arms immediately cause she is that desperate to cheat on the husband, but I can see how that can get old very fast and some people might not like it. Again, still NTR in my book.

I didn't mind it for Lust Voyage since the whole game is short. I treat it just like an instant loss 2-koma doujin.

Yeah but they're not exacly good that's the point, people don't REALLY mind non-NTR scenes as long as there's not that many of them and the part that is NTR is actually good, like the Winter chapter of SoL, but when you get a game like Arrival of the Goddess, where the NTR is borderline trash and 70% of the scenes have nothing to even do with NTR, or The Voyage, which was pure NTR but the NTR was ACTUALLY trash from start to finish then yes, people are gonna start calling you VANILLAman sooner or later, especially since they KNOW that you can make so much better games because you made Adelaide Inn, The Rural Homecoming 1-2 and Mother's Lesson.

I think great NTR is very emotionally difficult to write.
Writing NTR or making an NTR game is essentially an act of destruction against the male protagonist and it's not easy to detach yourself fully from a character that you created. Even if that character was only created to suffer.

That's why devs will often include non NTR routes in multi route NTR games.

Just playing an NTR game where you care about the male protagonist can be regarded as harming the soul.
It's even worse if you're the one that created the male protagonist and spent who knows how long creating the game.

That's why I believe that most game creators only really have one great work of NTR in them. Creating more is just too emotionally taxing. Far easier to transition to soft NTR (cuckold, Netorase, female protagonist) or Netori.
