Honestly, a bad habit I picked up from overzealous Discords where you have to censor every minutely questionable thing and reference, otherwise the message gets deleted.

I don’t do it in my own game, since it’s my world so I can type freely, but that self-censorship sorta creeps up when posting in public places. At some point, it got really annoying having every single message of mine deleted by puritan bots, so I just put the ×’s in questionable words out of habit now.

Characters look nice, voice acting always appreciated.
But…

How can you spend this much time on models and animations…
And literally 5 minutes on the NTR?
Translating the script is almost pointless due to how little there is.

As usual with these games, its mislabeled NTR instead of netori. You play as the producer stealing the GF away. But even for netori, it’s quite weak due to how fast she falls.

You have these amazing models and environments which end up squandered because there is no real "game" behind them. At its core, this is a light idol-sim with a handful of H-scenes. The scenes themselves are decently animated and voice-acted, but again, little backstory. Most scenes consist of insertion with not much variety.

I think if they’re going the F×llen D×ll route of beautiful models and minimal script, then they need to double the H-scenes if not triple them. That would introduce some much-needed value to an otherwise barebones game.

Yea, sadly NTR is just slapped on because it does well. But most devs dont know what the fuck makes it good so they just do the bare minimum.

Yeah most eastern ntr failed to innovate over the years. I would say most of them even regressed. Also feels like a lot of money pooled away from VNs etc in favor of online gacha games. Like Lilith studio for example.

I wouldn't go that far, but I do think there's been more creativity and innovation in the setups on the western side lately. Less endless 3DCG VNs with the most braindead "big penis good" insta-corruption plots, more actually gameplay-oriented NTR concepts and original visual styles.

But of course, this is only accurate if we dismiss the endless sea of AI slop phone "games" infesting the scene, a very much western problem. Which feels a bit disingenuous to me.

Well, I was speaking of the western scene in general - that specific kind of low-effort trash doesn't infest DLsite after all, they've got their own variety of slop - but there's definitely creators from the western world too making varying quality phone games which all basically have the same premise. Some of them didn't go the AI route, but the overall concept is the same: cheaper art and less writing than a traditional "full" VN let alone a proper game.

JP developers are generally more honest about disclosing AI usage (though DLsite making it mandatory also helps).
Steam and itch.io also require disclosure… but that seems to be ignored in many cases.
AI text usage should also be disclosed in addition to art, but this is rarely done.

Since F95 is a western site, obviously western slop will be more prominent. But Japanese do not have magically higher standards for games just because they act polite in public, lol. How many guys are playing freem (JP doujin site) games here? People do not comment on JP AI usage because they don’t visit JP sites.

But if you hire JP talent, which I do, you’ll notice that many VAs have AI avatars, and many composers use AI covers for their albums. I actually think westerners are more outspoken when it comes to being against AI, but that’s another story.

Now, considering the very minimal time and effort inputs into AI, it’s absolutely worth dipping into for that extra $100-500 (it’s actually a lot more, btw). There are AI devs who literally make a dozen games a year being uploaded here. Surely you’ve seen Naughty Arcade Studio’s stuff being uploaded in the NTR section?

Since it’s profitable to make money from literally peanuts, the latest releases on many storefronts have become terrible to browse through. It continues to get worse as AI proliferates at the expense of creators who put in the hard work to make their own stuff. It’s the W×× games slop problem redux, except a lot worse because the barrier of entry is even lower than that.

In some ways, it’s good that F95 doesn’t have many uploaders, because you’d be seeing even more AI slop. As sad as it is, the AI games being released here are already some of the ”best.”

Go on twitter it's full of third worlders trying to make 200bucks per month because for them it's more than they could make in a job. For someone living in the 1st world it's much more profitable to simply get a job.

Because NTR is generally used for all types. Netorare wasnt always seperated into multiple types. Abriviations of netori and netorase have yet to catch on in most places.

It's been a while I didn't visit Dlsite with VPN but I remember like maybe 5-6 months ago dlsite main page when VPN set to japan was infested by AI works. Like every 3 works you would see one AI work, and not even like advanced AI but the AI that people used like 1-2 year ago where artstyle just screamed AI, it was atrocious. But now it's nice that AI works have it's own section at least.
