because it is fake, reading some previous messages and tweets, major part of the story was directly inspired by vixenp own story, except the ending where she just said "broke his trust" was the reason for a breakup, so shybox had to come up with something
New girl was just starting to get good and it ended, great design and concept, but honestly I would rather get an update on other girls. When you get an update with them there's a decent amount of content so it feels like there's a point, here this time feels like getting blueballed. Hopefully after this one things start becoming more focused, add to the girls that are lacking, expand their stories, try to wrap up stories for others too. This ain't Fortnite, their stories don't need to go on forever with updates till the end of time.
I see a lot of people complaining about the new girl, saying they’d rather the other girls get more development instead. I, for one, am really happy that new girls are still being created. In fact, I feel that the game, with its extremely branching narrative, can’t really support long development for any one storyline.
Frankly, when a new chapter comes out for a girl who already has a lot of content, I only check it out if I really like the girl, and even then, I usually only care about the branches I’ve enjoyed so far. It’s just too much of a chore to go through all the new content, so it ends up feeling like there’s very little new for me.
Also, I feel the content for most of the girls is starting to feel repetitive. Of course, not all new girls are to my taste, but I’m fine with that and want to see more of it.
And since I’m in a congratulatory mood, let me just say that I loved the pegging scene with Cathryn. There’s a curious — and frankly scandalous — lack of content mixing pegging and NTR, and it was amazing to see. I hope more of that comes in the future.

Focus on finishing the existing content instead of adding new branches. You're only going to upset more people by doing this.
he should just update every girl equally and then put up a second wave of girls to follow. but there are already too many for that. the patron poll thing doesn't work at all. it's allways the same girls getting updates anyway.
Elena is nice and all but I do wish they'd finish at least one of the girl's route so they'll have less on their plate and more time to concentrate on newer girls.
Elena's story for one is a slow burn and it's just no fun in these ntrs games if I don't see her get fucked by another dude. That's the whole point I picked up this kind of game. Adding more girls is good but it will sap their resources and spread them thin.

Alright, I finally got around to play the update. So first of all, I have to give credit where credit is due. I loved Elena's story, it has a kinda slow burn that I like but the thing I like the most is the friend group and how the dialogues feel real. Reactionary in a way. Believable. Clearly Shybox wanted to write this girl for a long time because this hit way better than previous updates. Must've felt refreshing.
However, to echo the sentiment of many here as well as to repeat myself from my original reaction to the news about a new girl. Cathryn or Rachel should really wrap up their stories soon. The queue was already bloated before Elena. I'm down to get more girls, but not at the cost of the progress for the ones that I like. I am absolutely sure I'm not alone in that sentiment.
I have to admit though, the voice acting is my only gripe here. The voice messages is a nice idea on paper. But man, the VAs are botching their lines HARD. It may be because of the girls having little experience or because of Shybox giving them zero voice direction, but the voice acting needs a lot of work. Sorry if it comes off as rude to the girls and/or Shybox but someone has to give criticism. So let me explain why I think this to have my comment be a bit constructive.
This is supposed to simulate a message app, so we're expecting a lax environment for conversations which can be simulated with writing alone. But when we talk about voice messages, we should be hearing a normal person talking in normal cadence and rhythm that matches their personality. Elena comes off as stuck up and stressed because of her life situations she should sound like someone who's moving fast or always with an objective, so quick, to the point and not wanting to give room to misunderstandings, she should sound very clear, but you should still hear the rush in her voice. Her voice lines did not match that vibe at all, not to diss the voice actress, but her lines should sound like she's speaking, not like she's reading. When Elena sent voice messages, she has this whisper like voice and perfect punctuation while talking. People generally don't talk like that, a voice message you just send it to get it over with or you ramble while talking, you may stutter or you may redo the message until you think you got it right, but you don't have perfect punctuation while talking. Unless you're doing a presentation I guess, but these are supposed to be voice messages and for the most part, they just don't sound like that. She sounded kinda normal in her voice message talking about books that were popular with other women, whatever voice direction that was given or whatever spice the VA added for that message was good, but all the other ones (and all future ones) need actual work, because the lines sound very much like lines in a script, not like a person talking with their significant other.
I know, I know, "this is a porn game why do you care so much about the acting" blah blah blah. Game was doing perfectly fine without voice messages, no need for actors, just a good writer, which Shybox proved he is. But if you want to add voice actors, would it not make sense for you to ask for them to act their character properly?

I do voice direction and explain to everyone what the goal of the game is. (An authentic phone chat experience) I even tell them that I prefer it if they just used their phone to record the lines instead of a fancy microphone. I explain everything that you mentioned here. I find the VAs through reddit and X. And most of them are used to record using a script. So I write a script for each, I even tell them what it should sound like. But I think it comes down to the VAs not being comfortable using their natural voice. They're used to dubbing hentai animations or doing voice acting for renpy visual novels. Using their natural voice is also like taking off your make up. It shows your real voice. So I can't really tell them to just use their real voice etc. It's really dang complicated and I think new characters won't get a VA anymore. The one for Elena was planned for a while but yeah. I could tell them to do revisions until it's perfect but the schedule is always too tight. I write the story, then hand off the script and do the art so yeah... I know what you mean but just doing it better is not that simple. And trust me, those VAs are already better than most of the ones I find. They're also all getting paid it's not like I just find anybody to do it for free.
And as for the progression of the game. I totally get it. There won't be new characters for a while until some stories are finished. I planned Elena for a while and wanted to write her story while it's still fresh in my head.
(I might tell Elena's VA next time she gets an update to just quickly re-record the older messages on a whim, maybe that will help)

I see, so then it comes down to the VAs not being comfortable doing their natural voice. From one point of view I understand, anonymity matters on the internet. But the role you're trying to give them is that of normal people doing everyday stuff going about their life, none of them should sound sultry or seductive or be whispering on what's supposed to be a voice message where the mood isn't sexual yet. That's not to say that all the voice messages done in the game now are bad mind you, there are a few good ones off the top of my head like a few of Rachel's when she was "pretending" she was being fucked where the background noises (the sex noises, clapping of cheeks whatever you wanna call it) took major part in selling the scene along with proper sexual pleasure in the cadence of her voice or one of Lilith's where the seductive sultry tone in her voice made sense given the context of her scenes. And Amber's were decent overall, they sounded good.
It must be difficult finding good actresses and it also must be an expensive thing to add properly, I don't envy your position and understand that you must definitely be doing what you can to make it work. I'm just coining in my opinion that if you're going to be paying professional voice actresses, then it's just fair that you ask for and get a professional grade product. If a girl is supposed to sound entitled, then she should sound entitled, have a bossy authoritative tone and just exude bitchiness out of her cadence alone. Similar to Audrey from Huniepop where Brittany Lauda did a fantastic job, yes, Audrey sounded over the top but she absolutely sold what her character is supposed to be in every line.
I still feel necessary to reiterate, I loved Elena's story, it did felt like you were actually inspired because of how well everything flowed. It actually made me excited to know what will be coming next and how will it develop with the roleplay angle. I hope that NyaughtyMeow doesn't take it the wrong way if you do ask her to redo lines or to put more effort into the future lines. This criticism I gave isn't ill meant. I just believe that the lines can be a lot better than what was given. I still wish your game all the best, and I really love the way you write the stories and characters. Cheers
I always skip the VAs, they are kinda cringe, unnatural and forced most of the times. But I guess some people like them. At least you're not forced to listen to them.
This forum really needs a thumbs down emote. I think a few are bad but most are good.
Personally, I don’t play porn games with the sound on (girlfriend next door), so if I’m going to bother listening, the voice acting can’t just be passable—it has to be at the level of a top-notch actress: with emotion, subtlety, personality, something natural and evocative, and definitely not that stereotypical porn voice. And it just isn’t. I don’t mind its presence, but I’d like the option of a transcript for the voiced parts.
