Since the next update is going to be the very last one, I asked Hangovercat if he will include a lot of sex scenes in the final update. I was thinking of maybe 10 sex scenes instead of the usual 2 per update. Final update shows Natasha seducing Jeff so much that Jeff finally gives in and starts fucking Natasha without his 'demonic' side, which is why I suggested 10 sex scenes. 10 NTR sex scenes of Natasha cheating on Chris.
I'm
stoked to hear that the final update is about Jeff and Natasha (as opposed to "demon" and Natasha). Personally, I didn't care for the demonic plot twist, because seeing hapless Jeff and lustful Natasha both give in to lust together was the main thing I've been hoping for this whole time.
Still, Hangovercat persisted that it will take months even if the scenes aren't animated. What a letdown. How can it take MONTHS to even produce that, especially with the help of AI and many advanced programs for art?
If the final update is just two sex scenes and then a billion useless words for plot, I'll never be supporting Hangovercat with my money again. I'll just be waiting for the leaked versions of whatever games he makes in the future.
You're asking for 10 sex scenes. Do you think it takes only 3 days to make a sex scene? Use AI, edit it, write the scene in an afternoon or two, done?
Firstly, while I personally do suspect that the artist for NTR'dBC sometimes uses AI at some point in their workflow, they
definitely edit the art extensively by hand, in addition to whatever they draw from scratch. And sex scenes are a major weak point for AI; there are some models that do impressive work with it for VERY specific poses and positions that almost entirely cut out the guy, but the examples you see are the cream of the crop; most of it still looks freaking weird and would need editing (which is no small task). And if the artist does NOT use AI in their workflow, or is only slightly reliant on it, it's not exactly easy to just incorporate it more and have it help you. AI is figuring out its place in the artist's workflow right now, and it is very weird and different to use. Editing an image is quite different from drawing one yourself, especially when you consider that AI art is not broken up into layers like it normally would be if you drew it (would love to see development in that direction).
So, drawing/editing a sex scene on its own likely takes at least an entire solid day of dedicated work at this level of quality, and that's if they are very focused. We don't know this artist's life or how busy they are (do we?), and sometimes it makes a lot more sense to chip away at a piece for a week than to churn it all out in 8 hours. It burns you out mentally and creatively.
The same is true for writing. How many different ways are you going to write "the dick thrust into the pussy" such that you extend one sex scene to the length of a proper fap session? One sex scene can be tough if you really want to do it justice. 10 fully fleshed-out sex scenes is a monumental task, the likes of which I could never write in just one month, especially one right after the other. People aren't machines.
Not to mention, the build-up between each scene (which is of vital importance. It's not "a billion useless words," it's the entire reason we're reading a visual novel instead of looking at picture galleries), as well as Chris' perspective (which I don't care about but HangoverCat is an NTR dev and I think Chris' perspective is very important to the identity of the game for him).
And then, setting that aside, there's coordination between writer and artist. The writer might tell the artist "I want doggy style on the floor near the bed from a side perspective with one arm grabbing her hip and the other grabbing her boob" but they'll still typically want to SEE what the result is looking like before writing everything. You could write a fair amount without seeing anything, but all I'm saying is coordination between two people is another time-sucking obstacle in the workflow.
I'd be astonished if he and his artist pulled off this task in anything less than 4 months. And 4 months would be impressive to me.

All of that said, I would LOVE 10 scenes devoted to Jeff and Natasha, because I feel like Jeff has some catching up to do (and I wouldn't mind waiting 5+ months for this, honestly). But, in the end, if the dev is eager to move on to a new project, that's something I completely relate to. This project has been in development for (probably) about 2 years now, and he's spent MUCH more time with these characters than any of us ever will. He's probably burnt out and sees the light at the end of the tunnel, where he gets to pursue something new and exciting.
Now, I don't expect I'll ever follow another one of his games because I'm not actually a fan of NTR

and I think this game is an anomaly. I'm just a guest here. I also didn't financially support him in the first place while YOU DID for a year, so I'm not really saying that you don't get to feel disappointment. And I get that you want him to do the ending justice for what's been a very unique game.
TL;DR:
I don't begrudge you feeling any of that, I just think what he told you is the simple god's-honest truth.
