RPGM Completed NTRPG 2 - Obedient Filia and the Unforgivers [HANATAKA]

I mean yeah lol, I was an avid follower of this since like 2015, when I played NTRPG1 and 2, I've been trying to see if there's something new every now and then, just an inkling of hope.

But Hanataka cancelled that one at some point and announced NTRPG4, but sadly they went quiet after this again too.
It really sucks because while there have been other NTRPG-likes after this, they never really made me feel the same way like these 2 games.

Like before I played these games I wasn't too open with sprite sex games, but man, NTPRG1 made me change my mind.

I think the closest that comes is heNTeRia Chronicles which has like 3 games now.
But man, I hope Hanataka is somewhere out there still alive.

They've probably moved on, if they're alive.
Its rare that this "job" make enough money for creators to do this without it just being a side job/side money.

I've had many projects I've followed go silent and never again, it sucks, doesn't get easier but you learn to live with it and hope that someday they come back or just even say they're okay but they're done.

I doubt that was the reason. He was a successful developer. He was probably a victim of COVID.

They stopped updating on NTRP3 was like 2016, and they announced NTRPG4 in like 2018 and stopped updating within that too.
All well before Covid.
Like yes, maybe they were one of the Covid affected but I doubt that's what stopped them making this.
Might just be things didn't work out, also while their work was known I doubt "successful" is a safety term.
Yeah, 5k-6k boughteach of their games, but with DLSite cuts and cost of living, that's not really enough to "retire" or even keep you going for 10 years.

They didn't just sell on dlsite, but also on fanza. And yes, it's a great number; selling more than that is out of the ordinary. As for COVID, it's just theory.

Its a great number in that its good for an H-game. But again, I doubt the money they made back from this is some gangbusters retirement level money. They probably made good money but not sustainable as a job.
Heck, even the infamous Zone from Zone Archive pivoted to just streaming and minor patreon rewards because the cost of their works didn't sustain the output.

the stuff for ntrpg 3 looked promising before it got scrapped for 4 and i remember he changed his profile picture a few ears agon and when i got excited people laughed i guess i could see why now
