Nvidia: New Quadro RTXs coming Q4 2018, up to 48GB GDDR6, pricey...

At the moment, the 16 GB Quadro 4000 card is what has my attention. At $2300, for me, it'll depend on just how well it can outperform the 2080 Ti, i.e. am I better off with 2 2080 Ti's or 1 quadro 4000?

After the frustation I found that a tesla k80 is cheaper than a quadro M6000, both with 24gb. In case of Tesla they say that are 2 gpus, that probably means that the scene limit would be 12gb.

I failed to found good Iray benchmarks between them and a GTX 1080 TI. In this one below, 1080TI is faster, but we have to consider the memory size. 24gb VS 11gb is a huge difference:

I know I've seen some 1080Ti vs P6000 benches somewhere. Not finding them now, but I DID find this OctaneBench thing, which has a number of cards, including the M6000, P6000, 1080 and 1080Ti, yeah a bunch of cards.

Of course, it sounds like you and I are in the same boat. I'm making due with 6.4 GB of effective GPU memory at the moment (GTX 1080), and REALLY hate it when that 'CPU only' message comes up in the rendering progress window. In fact, I'm dealing with that very message right now. Multiple characters are so much fun sometimes...

Can't you do Iray with CPU too?
I plan to get 1050ti just to have something till 2020 when I hope next generation will worth it.

Very good suggestion, specially the second one, it have a list of performance with many combinations.

But P6000 is really expensive more than 4k, I was aiming M6000 with 24gb, is the previous generation, but still, 24gb are 24gb.
