Wait wait. Jean Claude Van Dam, the guy who was the inspiration behind Johnny Cage, is going to be a skin for the character in the game.

As I understand it, they were planning on making a game based on Bloodsport the movie. For whatever reason, they (then Midway) lost the rights to it and ended up making Mortal Kombat instead. The JCVD Johnny Cage skin is an homage to Bloodsport and the upcoming 35th anniversary.
