probably your save file is from old version, i also have the same problem last time, like the inn events that doesn't work (the one when priestess is offering herself to do the negotiating), and some cases are yarizo model didn't showing at some events etc. Here is my save file, and other save file from the old versions, mine is on slot 16 and 18, slot 16 is on the brothel, while the 18 is outside camping

Thanks for the saves. Turns out that mine are bugged and don´t spawn enemies in the area.

So when you split up in town are you force to play both of them to progress or you can choose who to use?

The things you do when split up is all side stuff. As far as I know, none of it is necessary to advance the plot.

There isn't really a translation yet. Just run the Japanese version through MTool.
