Yeah, I am surprised that people still support games on Patreon. Have you learned nothing from scam games like Monster Girl Island or Yandere Simulator? The standard should be for the developer to make the game first and then people buy it.
Excuses like "they need monthly pay" are BS, because that's not how it works. It's the same with making movies, budget VS box office. If the movie or game is successful, the money you gain can last you months or years, during which you produce another movie / game, not take a break (in the end it's still a job). If the game developer wants to start making games but can't afford it due to lack of money, he either just needs to do it as a part-time job until he becomes popular enough and can make enough money from the profits or take a risk by getting a loan (which I wouldn't recommend).
TL;DR - Don't support games on Patreon, the game developers take advantage of it and will often delay the game release as much as possible (and like someone said before, more support / money on Patreon will only make them lazier and less likely to release the game soon).
