That's an unfortunate trend these days with many of these games, instead of supporting open source software to integrate various toys, they go for the proprietary stuff that only supports the toys of the one manufacturer because of the sponsorship, frankly didn't know the game had one but let me guess... is it lovense?

I mean, it makes sense. You're a poor dev eating bean sprouts for dinner 6 days of 7, and some company comes by with a deal that will make you actually make half a living off your game if you integrate their sex toy with it

Of course you'd take the deal. You'd be nuts not to. It's a net positive and the only "downside" is some people can't access a feature that didn't exist before anyway.

(replaying the game after it's been a while) there's a lot of stuff that got fleshed out or added. Kinda nice that it feels like a more complete game, but I still want more sex scenes with robot.

A public scene where you can get caught fucking your bot, and not a new pose either. just take the doggystyle and use it for a new scene with 'getting caught' gameplay mechanics and that would be hot as fuck.

Feels like there should be some sort of regulations, make them advertise whatever, but leave the opportunity for other toys to use.

bsolutely no way that kind of code is getting regulation to be open source. it would be a nightmare for developers and lawmakers. They implemented code that's compatible with a specific device, which is the intended device for the software. You can't regulate that because it sets precedent. Think about Nintendo being unable to implement code which allows their games to only work with specific devices as a result of that precedent. No way that would fly

Sure, but work was done to implement in, changes in code that could enable support for intiface for example and thus multiple toys, but it won't happen as some agreement probably prevents other toys from being supported which is just sad cuz ther are many, much better toys out there that get hardly any support in games.
