So far into this game (around day 9) and I can't really help but sort of feel a bit weirded out by all the massive 5-star-ratings for it? Maybe it's because of some of the western VNs I've played in the past (Snoot Game, IWHTG, Kawata Shojou, even Corrupted Kingdoms) but the writing leaves a lot to be desired. Mostly with how bland the protagonist, AKA Anon, feels.

I get that he's just supposed to be a self-insert for us to play through, but his dialogue comes off as so generic, like he somehow feels less human than the literal-robots. It makes me not really feel invested into seeing this literal piece of wood getting together with the cute robot.

In general, I feel the dialogue is just missing that sort of sauce that other VNs have. Maybe it's because of the fact that there isn't really any pauses or line breaks to insinuate actual speech; making the textbox feel so wordy.

With the art, I should say that I give the benefit of the doubt towards the art assets with other NPCs-since this game is still in development and all, I imagine some of them are placeholders (Landlord, Ms. Fischer, The Priestbot). Because they stick out like a sore thumb compared to the homeless guy and the policemen. I also assume the same with the rest of the BGs, because I notice how different the art-styles are between the room of the MC and everything else, which almost has this oil pastel look to it. Not a bad look, but again, conflicts with the art-style.

And now towards the robot itself: the interactions with her have been good. I wouldn't call it legendary levels of interactivity like some people are claiming it to be, but I've been enjoying it. I especially find the first position that we have to be pretty hot, considering how adorable her face changes are and how you get to even pet her during it. Haven't unlocked the other ones though.

Anyway, I'm gonna keep playing to see if things do improve, but so far, I can't help but question all the hype with it.

Well for starters, you're comparing VNs and usually highly rated VNs on top of that. To something that ain't really a VN. So apples to oranges imo. Next is the general idea that not everything is meant to be compared in that way. For example, I'm not going in expecting an arcade racer to compete with a sim. Or another comparison would be a bad cheesy movie with a good one. I can like the cheese and corny enough to rate it high. Don't mean it's blow for blow equivalent, to a better made movie if I rated them similarly. I'm sure you have guilty pleasures that you rate high? Even if it isn't as good as other, better shows. It simply tickles you in the right ways regardless.

It sounds like you came in expecting something else. Folks just like the core interactions with the bot. They aren't here for exceptional writing or whatever else. It's just a simple game of a guy and his robo girl. And folks like it... thas about it.

A mod to make the cooking minigame playable would be nice. After chicken noodle soup things become a blur... Why not let the bot do the cooking like she initially wanted to do? Practice makes perfect! That way you can actually see all her cute emotes instead of focusing on blue/green boxes traveling by at ludicrous speed. Sell a cooking module or maid bot accessories :p Thinking about it having her in a maid outfit would be cute :sneaky:

Fishing minigame would benefit from being able to order a custom pole. A more forgiving hit box and a fish that hasn't downed a pound of meth would be good. Only fish that didn't bounce around like mad turned out to be a rusty bucket full of holes. Not sure if it's a bug but it would be nice if the main countdown timer paused while caching the fish as there is barely enough time to get two per session. Fishing shirt and panties come in green? I always associated fishing with blue...

New intro was sweet and better than forcing your girl to be a cam girl
Would be nice if you could rename Anon, which the bot ask for your name so why can't that variable be used? Outside conversations would be a bit more personalized that way.
Enjoying the new update though it would have been nice to got her a Christmas outfit for the holidays.

Maybe because its Christmas time and the game isn't worth it to waste more energy to it since it just another patch of mundane things?
Oh and most of the messages are deleted so you only see what is feeding the ego of the developer (or each others).
This message will be deleted as well labeling it as attacking or other weak minded bullshit.
The patch came out, its technically nothing and it was made in more than half a year.
So the game a dead end, why wasting time on it?

Speak for yourself. The patch notes seem to indicate a lot of good content, with room for more to build on. I get tired of people griping about consuming "free" content. And, this is not stroking the developer's ego to simply state a clear subjective opinion on a work in progress, which are as subjective as your own particular opinions...

Speak for yourself. --> Everyone can only speak for themselves... duuuh.
The patch notes seem to indicate a lot of good content, with room for more to build on. --> Define good.
I get tired of people griping about consuming "free" content. --> This sentence makes zero sense...
And, this is not stroking the developer's ego to simply state a clear subjective opinion on a work in progress, which are as subjective as your own particular opinions... --> You very very misunderstood what is going on here. This SITE through its 'rules' forces the subjects to feed each others ego because most of the negative comments are deleted. Plus I stated facts, not opinions. My comments were based on the game as business model and thus it can be handled as business science thus I provided simple facts. Its not my fault that many gooners here are undereducated and thus can't comprehend what I communicate.

Finally! An update for my favorite depression simulator!

...By all the damned gods that haunts us, they added a fishing minigame. As if I could not love this game any more. Sorry Bottie the Bot, I don´t have time to become a streamer. Gotta fish.

Edit: By all the cursed things upon this site, it even got Snake! The one with where you loop if you go through the wall!
