I tend not to care about lore, so it mostly didn't bother me, but even I was a bit confused about why there were suddenly two of them.
If I were to wager a guess, they might have wanted to make more of an intro, but they had to decide between spending weeks animating something that quite a few people might skip to get to the porn (people like me) or release an animation earlier (to please supporters) that lacks the intro, but contains what most people would be there to see in the first place: the porn.
