but the issue is that making animatics slow down the proccess of animating with needing storyboards and alot of work which is why only indie 2d animators do it as it can help guide 2d animations but most 3d artists just wing it

I've seen some 3d animators do a rough pass of the animation(such as the larger motions) first, then after getting the voices they polish up the animation and add in smaller motions like with the face, hair, clothes, etc. So it is doable without needing animatics and storyboards.
