I don't think the MC will be sensitive to that delusion. He had to bury his own son; mortality has to be on his mind.they are GOING TO LIVE FOREVER FOR THEIR CHILD!
When it comes to the students, I'd like my MC to set boundaries and take up the role of a mentor who leads by example. I'm totally fine with other people playing differently, but since the choices are there, that's how I'd like to play.Maybe have a watch at that Old Man Wolverine movie or a number of old man Liam Neeson or Old Man Clint Eastwood movies where they do exactly that: take up very young clueless kids and act like real life superheroes to them the whole time.
My only issue, really, is that I can't set these boundaries soon enough. The MC is old enough to have a handle on his moral compass. When he visits Brooklyn at her dorm, he even remarks about it being inappropriate. Personally, I don't want my MC to even put himself in that situation in the first place.
