Early drafts of the game had the protagonist appear during combat, and their design was inspired by the Old Hunters from Bloodborne. He wielded a sawblade (hence the blood-theme of the physical attacks), and specialized in alchemy.

That would be good point to mention(with some correction to story obliviously) He probably should be sick and tired from every curious person asking about why his hero name doesn't fit\reflect his theme. >_< By the way, in pathfinder alchemist have mutation specialization and i thought his melee skills inspired by that game. "their design"? Wait does it mean he will get his sprite too? Nice.
