There's no way to avoid sleeping aside from freezing the in-game timer with a tool like cheat engine (someone more versed in memory editing can answer on how to do that). AFAIK sleeping is required to progress scenes with the mom (i.e. voyeurism), and there isn't any "failed" state which was cause you to miss out on scenes.
