Man this MC is a derp. I know that's deliberate but it's hard to enjoy as a reader who likes to assume the role of the MC. Plus... The unlocked bathroom door? Really? The most overused plot tool in AVN history along with "I forgot to charge my phone". On the plus side I love the art, the expressions and the cutesy vibe.
Thank you for you feedback. Yeah, I won't argue the MC is a bit of derp but that you for recognizing the intentionality in it. I suppose I have always viewed the MC as primarily their own character. I envision them at the start as good hearted and passionate person but also socially awkward, socially clueless, and quite passive (with the goal that they progressively overcome these flaws). The custom name function and the choices are so the player can guide the character to some degree, so they are not completely static, but I'll admit the design was not so much for self insert players... Hopefully it's more bearable as the character develops but I understand if it doesn't jive to your play style.
For the unlocked bathroom and uncharged phone, I agree I've fallen trap to plot conveniences/cliches there... Moving forward I'm trying to avoid them where I can and I guess it's all about developing my skills as a writer. Unfortunately I'm also trying to limit the scope of the game so I can get it done (as my time to work on it is quite constrained as it's fully a hobby project). I have an idea of the scenes I need to do and I'm trying to stick to that because the most important thing to me is completing the game. The problem is that restraining myself on scope can sometimes conflict with better built up scenes/writing. Hopefully it's not to egrigous and, as said above, I'll work to try and avoid them as much as I can.
Finally, thanks for the positive feedback on the art and vibes, and for giving the game a go
