We talk a lot about Parker, rightfully and understandably, but we rarely talk about that woman who claims to be MCs aunt and is connected to the tiger mutant who attacked him.

I'm curious what her deal is. After all she risked her supposed nephew getting killed just so he'd get close to the leading hero team.

The tiger was convinced that MC was what caused him to be that way, I can only assume to his mind MC inherits the sins of his parents. Meaning MCs parents were involved in the creation of the Superflu. Who better would know than MCs aunt who was likely involved too.

Assuming the aunt knew all along what MCs power was or was going to be, and that seems very likely as Parker seems to have known and been tracking his dna since before MC himself knew his powers a thing, then planting MC with the best hero team is an obvious plan to copy and gather in one person some of the strongest powers around.

But to what purpose?

They've obviously not working with the government, given they broke multiple mutants out of a concentration camp. But they're also manipulating some of them, or at least they did one of them.

It kinda feels like MC is getting groomed into being this worlds Magneto, the savior and guardian of all mutants.

I kinda hope so, this world is far too fucked up for any peaceful subservient route to coexistence.

She doesn't claim to BE MC's aunt specifically IIRC. Just talks about arranging a meeting.

Feels like she's playing for both sides. Didn't Georgia say they were there chasing a tiger mutant anyway?

Or he's been lied to ofc...

Does anyone else can't enter Evelyn character menu entry? After the first freeroam, that was when I first tried, always give me an error saying {name 'evelyn_prof2_unlock' is not defined}, all the other 9 unlocked character entries at that point open fine.

I put URM in the game folder after it to check variables and I searched variable names with "unlock" and I got more than 20 variables that end with "(character name)_prof_unlock" and a few also "prof2" but yeah evelyn one isn't one of them. Not sure if this an already known/reported bug on this thread, I tried to search about it and didn't find anything so I'm wondering if there is something wrong with my game installation because it is kind of annoying, what seems so far the "main LI" in the game and can't even enter her profile/gallery. Can anyone try to enter Evelyn character menu entry and see if gives error too?

FYI I'm using the latest v0.6.0 version of the game that is in the OP. I'll attach the traceback of the error.

Cheers and thanks in advance.

I'm glad to see that Golden Jack is starting to take off, becoming better known, and has passed the 500 subscriber mark (y).

I played until the first dinner out with Moonsong (I think it was chapter 2 or 3) and found it entertaining, and I must add that the dev was developing at least three chapters ahead, something I've never seen before :PogChamp:.

It's a known bug with v0.6. Jacq implemented code that at the start of Chapter 6 updates Evelyn's age (since her birthday occurs), but unfortunately the variable used to check that wasn't in the base version of the game so is currently undefined until you reach that chapter and causes the error.

It'll likely be fixed, but in the meantime you'll need to get to Chapter 6 before you can see Evelyn's profile.

Does anyone have a handle on the timeline of events in the story thus far? I.e., at some point Parker brings up it's been a year (plus some weeks) since MC has moved in with them. In the intro and photo flashbacks there's multiple events, out of order, but with timing information thrown in to most of them. I swear this an elaborate verbal math problem:
  1. MC's adopted parents arrested/sentenced weeks before turning 18
  2. MC moves in with Parker and Riley (three weeks before Evelyn's 18th, probably on his birthday)
  3. Beach Scene (Evelyn's birthday morning)
  4. Pendle Point (Evelyn's birthday night)
  5. Pool Scene (timeline unknown, but probably summer time so around the 4th event?)
  6. Lucia's July 4th (less than two months from Evelyn's 19th)
  7. Diner (MC's 19th Birthday, ~three weeks before present and Evelyn's 19th)
  8. Present (starts a few days before Evelyn's 19th)
We know from the scene with Parker and Naveen that he manifested well before getting attacked. We don't know how long Parker had been visiting him at night to get samples, though, and if that only began after he moved or before.

He almost certainly didn't manifest before the move. It's speculated that Amber's handjob triggered his power awakening. Had he already been active at that point, he almost certainly would have acquired her invisibility power (and we know that he has not acquired an inactive form of it because Naveen doesn't see him having it).

Something else I did notice that was interesting when reviewing the dialogue of that scene is that Parker comments that "I am curious to see what will happen if they do connect" when talking about if Riley is feeling the effects of MC's power and if they eventually have sex. Obviously she could just be talking in terms of relationship dynamics, but it also makes me wonder if she knows something about Riley that we don't in regards to her possibly having powers (active or latent) despite thus far appearing unpowered.

There are people in the codex with "ability: unknown", but both Parker and Riley are "ability: none", so there's that.
Had a pretty lengthy discussion in the Discord about this and my theory has grown a bit. I'll go into detail, but the TL;DR is that MC might be able to give unpowered people powers and/or make other powered people stronger by having sex with them.

Circling back to Parker's comment, she's very knowledgeable about the specific workings of the Superflu virus and metagene DNA from her work. If my theory is correct, her comment might be because she's interested to see if Riley gets powers from sleeping with MC or if nothing happens.

The flaw in that theory is that MC has fucked Georgia the most times of anyone in the story (up to three times) and her power hasn't evolved or at least he doesn't have an evolved version of her power. Depending on what path you take, the MC doesn't even have sex with Evelyn, instead using the pills to get her power, but nonetheless her power is still evolved according to Naveen. So, more than likely Evelyn's powers evolving have nothing to do with her having sex with MC. Also, if you go down the path of friendzoning Evelyn, she basically just says, "okay, I'll do whatever you want" to the MC to his surprise, which I suspect is related to not only his power but also to her power evolving, just not sure how, yet.

We actually don't know if he has an evolved version of Moonsong's power or not. Unlike with Evelyn, where Naveen's done a detailed examination of her DNA in the past, he doesn't seem to have seen samples from Georgia, Tanya, or Cat to compare. He does mention Moonsong and Emerald by name, but I'm pretty sure that's just because they have rare and well-known powers, so it's the easiest way to refer to them.

So it's entirely possible MC has evolved versions of all of them but Naveen wouldn't have enough information to notice. So far, the powers don't seem to function differently or more powerfully than expected, but neither does Evelyn's power for MC and Naveen still says it's evolved. I speculate that it'll take time for the evolved version(s) to manifest in an observable manner.

Another potential side of this is that while Evelyn has potentially had less sex with MC than Moonsong, she's spent waaaay more time around him passively. So that might also be a factor.

And regarding the pills, remember that the mechanism with which they function is the same: they transfer MC's metagene DNA to the "donor" when they're in a heightened state.

The tiger was convinced that MC was what caused him to be that way, I can only assume to his mind MC inherits the sins of his parents. Meaning MCs parents were involved in the creation of the Superflu. Who better would know than MCs aunt who was likely involved too.
I suppose this is more "realistic" than the thought I had that somehow either Tiger boy or MC were involved in some time travel event that caused him to be there to attack him that day ... either MC to the past or Tiger boy from the future ... That would require the MC to somehow effect other people's abilities though, which has been speculated too.

Thanks Rehwyn for the reply. Yeah I was thinking that the correct variable could trigger at some point in the game, like when I started chapter 2 or the next chapters but it seems I have to wait more hehehe not a big problem, just itches a bit my brain (not an OCD but sometimes it seems close to it :D) not being able to check that entry hahaha.

I'm at chapter 2 atm and I'm enjoying the game and story so far. And I read all the info in the OP about the game including the developer notes and I'm aware that Jacq (guess that is their name since you used that?) that they are self taught and usually their forte is more screenplay or the visuals and not the coding part (one good example is every time we leave the character menu it moves one image/dialogue further, it is kind of annoying haha), but pretty good so far overall.
